Jacques Vert & Kaliko Review - You Baby Me Mummy

Congrats! You're in!

I was recently invited to the Jacques Vert Group SS15 press day. Unfortunately I couldn’t attend and the lovely people offered to send me a couple of pieces from the current collection to review instead. The Jacques Vert group covers not only Jacques Vert itself, but Kaliko, Planet, Precis Petite, Minuet Petite, Dash, Windsmoor and Eastex.

As I am currently plus size (but working hard not to be!), I find that I struggle to find clothes I like that will suit my current body shape.

I chose the Bethany Floral Blouse as I like at least a half sleeve on tops and also it gathers under the bust, which is great for my mummy tummy. The colour is great and a good option for winter. This piece is woven chiffon, so it will be great for layering too as the weather gets colder.

One thing I have struggled with previously is finding a skirt that is the right length for me. Quite often, the only alternative to a maxi skirt is way above the knee (in plus sizes anyway). With’chunky’ legs this is not a good look for me and so I was thrilled to spot this mid calf chiffon panel skirt. It also has godets in the skirt to give you that Strictly feeling!

Forgive my poor posing, I was trying to stop my heels sinking into the grass! Oh the glamour!

These pieces feel great to wear, although I probably wouldn’t wear them together usually as I don’t think two floaty pieces go together. However, all that means is I get twice the chance to wear them!

Disclosure: I was sent these pieces in return for an honest review.
