We have had the pleasure of going to Camp Bestival for the last two summers. Our first year, was when Ava was just over 2 years old and we had such an awesome time. Last year, she was able to enjoy even more of what this amazing family-friendly festival has to offer.
Set in the grounds of the stunning Lulworth Castle, Dorset, Camp Bestival is an event not to miss, especially for those of you out there with families. There’s so much packed into the 4 day festival which will please every member of the family.
Every year the festival has a theme, for our first year it was Circus, and last year was Space. This year, it’s Popstars and Rockstars, I know Ava can’t wait to dress up!
We were totally blown away last year with the sheer volume of activities there were for kids. We loved Dingly Dell and every day we took Ava to hold a baby chick in the farm area (she named each one Ava!). We also enjoyed the playground area, and the #50thing National Trust meadow, which was itself packed with activities. Ava was super proud of the wooden medal/necklace she made herself.
There’s also lots of entertainment for kids, with Mr Tumble gracing the stage, as well as Dick and Dom. Last year Ava adored the Art tent which had so many different crafts which the kids could get stuck into and create their own projects.
There’s also going to the world’s biggest disco ball, which I’m sure will be totally awesome. Last year Ava was desperate to go on the world’s largest bouncy castle, but she was a little too young and just kept getting bounced over, so she will be super excited to have a go again this year.
My husband is so excited that Madness will be headliners this year and for me my pick would be Mark Ronson and Leftfield.
Let’s not even talk about the food available at Camp Bestival, it’s AM-AZ-ING! Seriously yummy and all to tempting!
One of our highlights last year was the daily face-painting. Ava picked out what she wanted the following day each night and it was our first stop in the morning.
Have you been to Camp Bestival before? Are you considering it this year?
