Create at mailing list for your blog
I’ve spoken on my blog and in Facebook Lives many times before about this, but I can’t stress it enough that having your own list of subscribers to your blog is the most important thing you can do to grow your blog.
Why is it so important? Your mailing list of subscribers is the only list of your followers that you actually own. You might have 50,000 Twitter followers, but should Twitter change their algorithm or go’s bust, you will lose all of your followers (and potentially traffic too). Whether you want to sell a product in the future or you just want to deepen your connection with your readers, getting into their inbox is a really good move. Check out this vlog on mailing list and what to offer when you get yours set up.

Create optimised image templates for all the different social media platforms
You can do this easily in Canva, and having a template means that it doesn’t take long at all to create these images when you create a post. All the platforms prefer images of different sizes, so having these correctly sized images to go with your post will mean your post look better on that specific platform. I always do a pin, a Facebook image and a separate Twitter image. However, as I have templates for all of them it only takes me a couple of minutes.

Create a Twitter list
Creating a Twitter list is a great step to making your feed more manageable. Set up a list and add accounts that you interact with regularly. You can always add as you go along too! Then spend five minutes a day going through your list retweeting anything that catches your eye. This will be a great help to other bloggers, it will make you more visible and they might even return the favour! You never know!

Install Rapidology plug-in
There’s so much talk about pop-ups and lots of people don’t like them. However, I think the people don’t like them are largely bloggers who don’t yet realise the power of having a mailing list. Rapidology is free and you can use it for a host of things. Standard pop-ups, sidebar opt ins, forms at the bottom of your post and also the option to lock a certain part of your post and only give access when an email is entered. This is great for building the main list, grow your blog and provide your audience with a download or more printable in a quick and easy way.

Outsource something
What are the tasks which you dislike doing on your blog? Do you hate fixing broken links? Maybe your strengths don’t lie in graphic design and you would like a batch of pins created for your posts. Think of things which would ease your life and save you time. Now go to Fiverr and hire a freelancer. Fiverr is named as such because the basic gigs (tasks) are charged at $5. Yes you read that right $5! I hate fixing code on my blog that’s deeper than post level and so I hired a chap who fixed the code for two things and I paid only £3.98.
So which are you going to do today to grow your blog? Let me know in the comments.
