The #powerofbabies with Pampers

Pampers

Can you remember what life was like before your kids? It seemed to take us a lifetime to get pregnant with Ava, yet I struggle to remember our life before she arrived into the world. She had a tricky start and had us worried there for a while, but she’s tough and it wasn’t long before she was giving her lungs a whirl; making her voice heard and she hasn’t stopped since!

Although kids can drive us crazy, there’s no doubt that they change us irrevocably and for the better. Everything seems much clearer when you become a parent. I think although worries can still bother us, when it comes down to it, nothing really matters as long as your children are o.k. That’s how I feel anyway. Life can sometimes deal us a rubbish hand, but if we know that at the end of the day our kids will still be healthy and happy, then things aren’t too bad after all.

When Ava was born we were so scared that we would break her and wanted to treat her like china. We needn’t have worried as children are so much tougher than we think and their fighting power can be extraordinary.

Every day you can find stories of little fighters who have had a much more difficult start than Ava had, born too early and requiring extra intervention from the Doctors. These stories often show us the incredible fighting spirit that is often present in children. They are way tougher than we think. Approximately 60,000 babies (Source: ONS, 2015) are born prematurely each year in the UK, that’s roughly 1 in 11 of all births. This statistic really surprised me, I had no idea that so many babies were born early.

While no-one can question their fighting spirit, premature babies are much more fragile and so it’s no surprise that they have a unique set of requirements, not least with regards to their nappies. The right sized nappy being such unimportant factor.

Pampers gained feedback from Neonatal intensive care unit nurses, who shared that the current preemie nappies available, do not fit the smallest of premature babies. To make them fit they are often cutting or folding to size. This results in the wider core causing discomfort and impeding healthy development of baby’s hips and legs.

Pampers is keeping its core values at the forefront of its innovations, committing to the happy, healthy development of every baby in the UK, including the tiniest ones. Pampers has therefore designed its smallest nappy yet, the Premium Protection P3 nappy, specifically for the smallest of premature babies. While also partnering with Bliss, the largest premature charity in the UK which provides support to the tiniest little fighters and their families.

These tiny P3 nappies are perfect sized nappy for these little fighters. It’s totally mind-blowing how small these nappies are, as you can see below. Every baby deserves to be comfortable and protected, which is exactly what the Pampers P3 Preemie Protection nappy does. They can wriggle and move around, without fear of leakage and the features are the same as in standard Pampers nappies, so you can be assured of an exceptionally well designed and well-made nappy.

To get involved share photos of your little ones with a raised fist on social media, to celebrate the amazing fighting spirit that premature babies show every day, and Pampers will donate £1 to the charity Bliss for every picture shared using #powerofbabies.
