So, a funny thing happened on Friday…..BritMums announced the finalists of the Brilliance in Blogging Awards. As I hit refresh for what seemed like the thousandth time, I was preparing to have to build myself up following the disappointment of not making it to the final. I clicked on the link and scoured the list, I had convinced myself that I wouldn’t be there, so I actually almost didn’t see my name on the list, but lo and behold my blog was there!
Now I haven’t won the award and if I am truthful, I am pretty certain I won’t; so I want to use this opportunity to let you know what it means to me to get this far and to say a big thank you.
I started my blog simply to record our family memories and nothing more, I had only read a couple of blog posts before and didn’t know anything about this amazing world I am immersed in now. 20 months later this blog is my job, my passion, and one of the greatest loves of my life. Something I never expected. My blog has picked me up when I have been low, has given my family such amazing opportunities to do things that we would otherwise not be able to do, given me something that is mine and that I am proud of and most importantly has given me THE MOST AMAZING friends. Friends who I laugh with, learn from and am inspired by every single day. I blog alone, but I am never truly alone when surrounded by these amazing people.
Before I run the risk of doing a Gwynie, thank you. Thank you to everyone who reads my blog, takes the time to comment on posts and those of you who voted for me in these awards. You don’t know how much this validation means to me, truly.
Mostly, I would like to thank Baby for inspiring me every day and being a pretty cool small person to have around.
