Our little girl is growing up. She no longer falls asleep in my arms at night. She can articulate pretty much anything she wants to and her personality grows larger and more vibrant by the day.
I have spoken before about Baby’s increasing interest in taking photographs, be it a snap on my DSLR or clicking away on her plastic camera, she loves it.
Recently, we have been sent a few lovely outfits for Baby and so we have had a couple of photoshoots. I will share more details on the clothes in another post, but I just wanted to share some of our moments.
While I was shooting her all I could think about was how much she had grown, how capable and confident she was. She now takes direction and loves showing off her clothes, which makes life so much easier for a blogging mama
Although we were taking pictures for ‘work’ we had such a wonderful time. We ran round, chased each other and laughed a lot.
I asked her where she wanted to be photographed and she was so excited. I wouldn’t be surprised if she was fed up of being photographed by now, but she seems to love it more all the time. As I checked the pictures on the camera in between running after her, I was struck by the the beauty of my small person.
Not simply her physical beauty, although I am shocked every day that I managed to have a daughter with so much beauty, but the increasing realisation of what a beautiful soul she has.
Does the love you feel for your children ever overwhelm you? Just spending this time with her and soaking in every inch of her expressive face, bowled me over.
In life we have so many worries, bills to pay and deadlines to meet. A few minutes of being carefree with her and it confirmed to me that the world could throw anything at us; things that years ago would have worried me, just won’t anymore. The only thing that really matters is our little family.
As a parent you know you would lay down your life for your child, in a heart beat and THAT is what matters.
Making sure that there is a smile on this beautiful face as much as possible, THAT is what matters.
Being the person that gets to wipe away the tears on this amazing face, THAT is what matters.
We had such a wonderful time and I could spend hours playing with her, capturing our memories and emotions on camera, for us to cherish forever.
I hope that as she grows we will remain friends. Nothing is a given, but I will work really hard to have the right to be her best friend.
