Taga Bike-Stroller Review

I saw the Taga Stroller bike on the internet and loved the innovative concept.  The Taga is a bike that easily and quickly turns into a stoller!  When Taga offered to send us one to try out, I was really looking forward to seeing how it works.

The Ride

It is very different to ride that a normal bike, as all the weight is on the front, so the steering takes a little getting used to.  Once you do, it is lots of fun! Being three wheeled it is very stable and has 3 gears, which adds to the ease of the ride.

The Taga has five-point harness and a protective bar, making it a safe ride for little ones.  There is a footrest and the seating area is protected on both sides by padding.  I like the viewing panel in the hood, so  you can check on your child in transit.   The brakes are super, it has advanced disk brakes on the front wheels and a Shimano roller brake on the rear wheel, so you can have confidence that you are in control.

The child seat looks really comfy and is a good size, accommodating children from 6 months right up to 6 years.  The adult seat is adjustable in height making it suitable for everyone.  Having undergone rigorous testing it has European, US and Australian safety certificates Taga

This is how it converts between the two modes in 20 seconds.  I must say we never managed to do it in 20 seconds, but it was easy to do.  To covert it from a bike to a stroller, simply take off the seat, flip the back wheel over to become the front wheel and then put the seat back on.  This video shows how simple it is.

It makes for quite a big stroller and we found it wasn’t the easiest to steer.  I don’t think I would want to take it on a shopping trip, but for a nice cycle to the local shop,  it would be perfect.  It is a really fun way to get out in the fresh air, get some exercise and have a fun experience with your little one.  Baby loves it, she had lots of fun riding around like she has a chauffeur!

Taga

The Taga is quite a big unit, even with the seat and handle bars taken off.  We definitely couldn’t store it in our house when we weren’t using it, luckily we have a garage.

We really enjoyed using the Taga, it was a really fun thing to experience with Baby.  I don’t feel like it could replace our stroller, as it is not practical for every day use (and it wouldn’t fit in my car). Therefore, I don’t think we would get the most out of it.  The RRP is 1495 euro and so you would need to ensure you could use it a lot to get value for money.

Thank you to Taga for lending us the Taga Bike-Stroller.  We have had lots of fun!

Disclosure:  We were loaned this stroller bike by Taga in return for an honest review.
