On Sunday, we woke to the sun streaming through the windows. What a contrast to the previous day! So we knew we needed to get out in the fresh air and enjoy the glorious weather. We decided to head down the road to Bucklebury Farm Park, which we had never visited before; despite it being only about fifteen miles away.
We decided to go for a little walk first, as the farm is set in the most beautiful countryside. We went off road, up rather a steep hill, but it was worth it as we saw a lovely deer shading under a tree. Baby was transfixed.
Baby wanted to stretch her legs and so we let her have a stroll on the grass, which turned into a bit of a sit down!
Baby needed to be a little more confidently mobile to enjoy the delights of the playground areas, which were really fabulous. There was a swing and slide area, sandpit, wooden castle, zip wire, play bus and a giant inflatable pillow set into the field. We will definitely return when she is a little older, so she can enjoy these areas. For now she made do with the swing and rocking pony.
Baby was quite pooped, so Mr Hubby and I wandered up and down, listening to her chunter until she fell asleep. We then went for lunch, hoping that we would eat ours before she woke up for hers and we nearly made it! Best laid plans! After lunch the farm animals were calling us, we walked around and let Baby meet all the different animals. There were lots of babies. Baby donkeys, ducks, wild boar, pigs and lambs. Baby was a little frightened by a rather confident goat that jumped up against the gate, alarmed at an eeyoring Donkey and made friends with a rabbit, called Badger!
Such a lovely day and great for encouraging Baby to get familiar with lots of animals.
I am linking up with the lovely Fiona from Coombe Mill for #CountryKids.
