Although the weather may have taken a light step back where you are, I promise you it is summer! It won’t be too long before the kids are off school and the entire summer holiday is stretched out before you. It can be a little daunting with so many days to fill. I always feel a pressure to make sure the summer holiday is amazing and lots of fun. Baby is not at school but her pre-school shuts for the summer, so she is at home just like school aged kids.

Before we were parents Mr Hubby and I loved going to Festivals. We went to our fair share before we met and since then have done many more. When Baby was born we were a little apprehensive about taking her along, but at just over two we braved it when we went to Camp Bestival for the first time and it was a fabulous experience for all of us.
We love having lots of special things planned through the summer, so that we have plenty to look forward too. This year we will be going to our fair share of festivals, having already been to Wychwood and heading to Camp Bestival at the end of next month.
The thing that is evident from going to festivals is they are suitable for such a wide variety and age of person. You will literally see all-sorts at any festival you go to, from the youngest babies to the oldest rockers.
To help you find lots of exciting festivals this summer Sunlife has put together an interactive map called ‘Festivals for the over 50’s‘. The name, however is deceiving as there are so many things listed that we could do as a family, not just festivals. It is such a great resource and is well worth checking out if you have some days out to plan over the summer. To make the tool easier to navigate, you can select events based on the event type; music, food and drink, cultural or theatre and arts.
Will you be heading to any summer Festivals this year? What are your favourite things to do in the summer holidays?
