Baby adores music and has always had a little well-used keyboard in her toy stash. A couple of her friends have keyboards on stands that the children can sit at and she always loves playing with these. So at a recent children’s market I managed to pick up one for her. I was meant to keep some of my bargains for her birthday, but I couldn’t resist giving it all to her…please tell me I am not the one who does this?! I just can’t wait and she always ends up being given most things I buy in advance.
Although it is a recent addition to our living room, her piano recitals are fast becoming ingrained as a daily fixture. She pulls it up to the couch, takes a seat and will usually ask us to join in with her, demanding we sing and sometimes even dance. The other day she said ‘Let’s go crazy”!; she is such a funny little thing. Oh and you won’t get away with not joining in.

She will sit there for ages singing her little songs and trying to play along, usually ending up singing ‘Let It Go’, which feels like the soundtrack to our life at the moment as we hear it so often. I feel as if we are having a good old sing song round the piano in an old East End boozer!
I love how uninhibited she is at this stage and I hate to think how that will change as she grows up. I really hope she retains most of the confidence she has now, and doesn’t let fear of what others might think change her too much.

This is a very ordinary moment in our lives, but one I have quickly become to cherish.
