I am a big lover of make-up. In fact, there isn’t a single day that goes by when I don’t wear some products on my face. Whether you regularly wear make up or wear it a little less often, one thing is for sure, you will put on your make up before a night out. As busy mums, sometimes the day to night turnaround can be a brief window. With this in mind Boots Natural Collection challenged me to do just that. To take my make up from day wear to evening ready in a few quick easy steps using their products.
The products in the Natural Collection are all just £1.99, which is really amazing value. For me, daytime make-up usually consists of foundation, powder and mascara. For my evening look, I would add eye shadow, brows, eye liner, give my mascara some more va va voom and pop on some lipstick.
I made a little video of how I got on in my challenge.

I was sent the following products;
Tinted moisturiser
Rose Glow highlighter
Brow kit
Eye Lines pencil (black/brown)
Lash Length Mascara (black/brown)
Cover up stick
Blushed Cheeks
Moisture Shine Lipstick (Cranberry)
Eyeshadow (Barley)
Pressed Powder

Day to Evening make-up tricks
-
Touch up foundation where required
Over the course of the day some redness may have started to show through. So just touch up where necessary; you don’t need to do a full face of foundation. Remember speed is of the essence for this challenge!
-
Quick brush of powder
Take a couple of seconds to add some powder to take off the shine and give you an even base to work from.
-
A coat of eyeshadow
Brush on some eyeshadow from lash line to crease, making sure it is blended in nicely.
-
Add another coat of mascara
Define your lashes and make your eyes pop more for the evening with a mascara top up.
-
Define brows with brow kit
Give your brows a boost with some definition. Use the wand to smooth out your lashes and then the powder to fill in any gaps and create an even look. This will immediately make you look more polished.
-
Brush on some highlighter on cheekbones
Use a well blended highlighter on your cheekbones. This encourages the light the bounce off giving you more structure and radiance to you face.
-
Add eye liner on waterline and lash line
Bring out the eyes more for the evening by adding eyeliner to further define and shape the eyes.
-
Use blush to enhance cheeks natural apples
Pop some blush onto the apples of the cheeks, for a rosy glow.
-
Finish the look with a slick of lipstick
No evening look would be complete without lipstick.

Although I’m a make-up fan, I never want to look overly made up. I want easy and quick to use products that will help enhance my features, while giving me natural overall look. However, I still want to feel like me!

I really enjoyed taking this challenge and trying products that perhaps I wouldn’t have tried previously. I will definitely buy from the Natural Collection again.

I am a big make up fan myself, I haven’t tried tinted moisturiser but thinking I should. Now my girls have gotten a bit older they started commenting on me wearing make up so i have learnt to force myself to go somedays without make up. It is hard as I have always worn it, but I have been embracing it so the girls know they don’t need it. Neither are into it yet and they like when I don’t wear it. I did let Aspen wear a little for her garden 6 graduation party though. Luckily even if they get obsessed the high school they will be in has a strict no make up policy so I am glad they will stay natural.
I do love some lippy, you look gorgeous as always xx
You look gorgeous!!! I love makeup and after years of not bothering I am finally making the effort again. These are great tips – that highlighter sounds great!
I’ve never used a highlighter but after reading what you said about allowing the light to bounce off my face and giving more radiance I think I will try that now! Your make-up is really natural and lovely – you look stunning.
You look amazing! I’ve always been a lover of make up, but I’ve definitely lost my way a bit since having children. I used to love the whole process of getting ready for a night out and matching my eye makeup to my outfit. I definitely need to find my groove again and make more time for me. I can’t believe what great value this range is and it’s not affecting the quality. I’m off to buy a highlighter after that tip! X
Oh wow, this is brilliant. Everything looks lovely, I especially like the look of the highlighter and lipstick. You look so glam! What gorgeous products, I’ll be buying some for myself and some to pop in Holly’s stocking xx
I really enjoy makeup but only use blusher/bronzer on *really* important occasions. You’re right — such an easy way to zhuzh up a look!
It’s so lovely isn’t it? You look amazing. Love the video too. The price is just as good as the goodie bag was I think. Loving your festive look hun.
That lipstick is PERFECTION on you! I’m not really a lipstick kinda gal but I think it’s something I should try out in 2017! x
Great tips, Aby! I love that lip colour on you xx
You look fab. I love how affordable this range is.
“Eyebrows are meant to be sisters not twins” LOVE this phrase Aby and I’ve never heard it before. New mantra for me 😉 Love this post – isn’t the range fab?
