Make a click to tweet image to help your organic marketing?!… Organic marketing might be the stuff of dreams for us bloggers. We should be doing all we can to make it really easy for our readers to share our posts far and wide. Yes, we all have social sharing buttons, but how can we grab the attention of our readers and encourage them to share bite-sized takeaways from our posts. Soundbites that we specifically create to promote our content. We make a click to tweet image!
You’ve probably seen those text parts of posts that say ‘click to tweet’ or ‘tweet this’. The reader does and magically the text is pulled through to Twitter and is all ready to go. The reader presses two buttons and the organic marketing begins. These juicy snippets are much more appealing to potential readers and so they are more valuable than a tweet sharing the entire article. They both obviously link to the entire blog post anyway!
For example;
Click to tweets can help you increase your Twitter impressions, engagement, following AND drive more traffic to your site. They’re also adding value to a Twitter feed, rather than simply touting an post.
So, if you’re shouting at your computer right now saying, ‘enough already Aby! You’ve convinced me, now how do I create this magic in my own posts?’ I got you.

So, basically you want to pull out the parts of your post which act as great sound bites. They need to be short and make sense. The max number I would do in one post is two, don’t go click to tweet crazy!
It looks like this;
“This is where you put your amazing soundbite of content’ – Click to Tweet.
I would always advise to use an image instead of basic text. Images are more dynamic and appealing and so they will stand out on the page far more. For example,
How to add it to your blog
This process really is quite simple. You need to register for a free account with Click to Tweet
- Enter in the text you want people to tweet in the box. Click generate new link.
- This is where you have two options. If you’re creating a basic text click to tweet. You need to copy the embed code.
- You then take this code and pop it into the text screen (in the appropriate place) of your blog post. When you preview you should see the click to tweet text all ready for clicking!
- If you want to create a graphic for your readers to click you want to head to Canva.
- Create a graphic to use as your click to tweet. The sizing will depend on your blog but around 800-100 wide will probably work out fine. Use a background colour of pattern and pop the text they will be tweeting on the the image. Then download.
- Next you just import this image to the relevant part of your blog post.
- After importing go to the details of the picture and change the drop down to custom link – here is where you pop in the link from the click to tweet page.
Note the image on the text should be exactly what people will be tweeting,
