The Linky List

The Linky List

I started this list after I had been blogging for just over a year.  There are so many things I have enjoyed about writing my blog, but one of my favourite things was joining in with linky‘s.

For non bloggers, Linkys are posts with the same theme, one person hosts and other bloggers link their posts to the hosts page.  They’re a fantastic way of finding new blogs, supporting other bloggers and getting your blog some exposure.

Quite often I would here people saying they didn’t know when the different linky’s were on, or they forgot. So I thought I would try to help out and so I compiled a list (which you can download below) of linkys.

While I have tried to include everyone, I am sure there are a fair few I have missed off/don’t know about.  If so feel free to email me at aby@youbabymemummy.com with the details and I will add them the next update.

The details I need are linky title, hosting blog, the day it goes live and what the linky is about. Please don’t tweet additions as they can get lost on my timeline.

At one point, I used to do A LOT of linkys — sixteen a week!  My weekly favourites over the years have been

  • The Ordinary Moments (What The Redhead Said)
  • Magic Moments (The Oliver’s Madhouse)
  • Living Arrows (What The Redhead Said)
  • The Happy Days Linky (What Katy Said/Quite Frankly She Said)
  • Tried & Tested (My Family Fever/Going on an Adventure)
  • Word of the week (The Reading Residence)
  • The Black & White photography project (Podcast Dove)
  • My Sunday photo (Photalife)

Phew!

So without further ado, pop your email below if you would like me to send you a copy of the linky list to print out at home.

If you see any that aren’t running any more or have a new one to add please email aby@youbabymemummy.com

  14. Hi there, I am new to the blogging world, you’re very inspiring in your commitment and dedication. Naive as it may sound, what are linky’s? I see them mentioned fairly regularly, but I am unsure as to what they are? Great blog btw 🙂

Aww thank you very much for you lovely comment.
A linky will be hosted by a particular blogger or group of bloggers. It will have a theme (i.e review posts) and everyone then can link up their review posts to the hosts blog. People then comment on each others posts to build a community and help each other x

  17. Hi, I am hosting a new linky so I wondered if it could be added to the list please?

Its called #KidTested. The idea is to link up any reviews that your kids have been involved in testing with you. Ideal for reviews on toys, kid products and family days out.

    Hope you can add it

    thanks

  23. Fabulous! Thanks Aby. I have only been blogging a few weeks and still getting to grips with using my word press site. I would love to join in with linkys but I need to learn how to link up first and copy the relevant badge etc. Is this simple to do? AS I’m not the most technical person ;-/

I rely on people emailing or tweeting me to let me know about their linkies as obviously I don’t know about them all personally. If the hosts want it to be included then if they message me the details I will add it x

  26. Wow, this is so useful thank you so much. I am fairly new to blogging and didn’t even know such a thing as a ‘linky’ existed until I discovered your site! I have already discovered lots of new blogs through this and am looking forward to adding some of my own posts in the future. Your blog is fab by the way – you have really inspired me to keep on with the blogging (and I’m sure lots of other mummies too!)

So this is probably the millionth time you’ve heard it (and I think the third time from me!) but thanks for putting together such a helpful resource! X

  30. thanks for the list. I think it’d be more useful as a google doc or something online. For me when it opens in pages (mac version of word) it loses all the links (I’m assuming there are links and not just blog names)?

    1. Post

Hi, thanks for your comment. It is a word doc, so will open in pages. There is no blog links (as I am sure you can imagine getting this far took hours), any blog can be googled if a linky took your fancy. I left it purposefully as a basic word doc, so people can just edit it as they wish, adding their own comments etc. I am sure you could copy it across to your own Google doc, if that suits you better. x

  31. A fabulous list which I now use regularly! And which prompted me to start my own link up which I’d love you to add to the list. It\’s an expat blogger’s link up on every second Wednesday of the month 🙂 Thank you for putting this together!!

    Thanks

  36. Thanks for including my competition linky on your list. I am going to spend the day joining other linky’s that I hadn’t come across before.

  37. Thank you for the list Abi, i was actually thinking about doing this myself, researching all the possible linkies i could take part in and put them on a list, so actually you have saved me a lot of time! Laura

  46. well done putting such a fab list together, I have been trying to put my own list together to keep handy at home of links I want to check out, but never get around to doing it, so this is so helpful! Can you add my #mg link up on a Monday at reflectionsfromme.com, it’s open to all topics, thanks Aby xx

  47. Thank you so much for this! I’m always at a loss with when linkys are and end up missing them! Great idea having them all in a word document.

  48. Was literally just starting a list of linkys that I’d come across and found this on my way to your list linky. Just perfect! All printed out and ready to use.

  49. I would love to do more linkies but hosting one means a lot of work already so I only get to do one or two a week, or 3 if I’m feeling energetic!! And congratulations, someone loved this post so much they added it to the #BlogCrush linky! feel free to collect your ‘I’ve been featured’ blog badge if you’d like to 🙂
