Do you live a secret life? Is all not quite as it seems? Well I’m harbouring a secret and I’m almost too scared to tell you. From the outside I’m an organisational Queen with all of my duck in a row. In real life, my ducks are still in a row, but I often forget to feed them! In my real life with practical things I’m so forgetful. I’m the type of person who would only notice I needed to wash some clothes when I’d worn the last thing in my wardrobe. I’m just not wired like that. It’s safe to say Mary Poppins has nothing to worry about. Nothing at all.
You all know I have a young daughter, so add her and my business into the mix and quite frankly it’s surprising that I can remember my own name.
What I could NEVER remember to do was to buy ink for our home printer. It would warn me for a while it was low, then totally run out and it could be months before I would remember to replace it. NOT ideal when you’re running a business and need to print documents to keep records up to date.
I needed an assistant just to do my ink ordering, as adding one more thing into my juggle was not working out. Then I was approached by Epson who offered me chance to try their ReadyInk service. As soon as I read about it I knew I would be able to hold off on my Ink-Purchasing-Assistant as this service would do it all for me.
The Epson team sent us a new Expression Photo XP-8500 Small-in-One printer in order to test out the ReadyInk service. The printer is fab and has some great features. Ava loved that it lets you print patterned paper right from the printer selection (rather than from a browser or memory card). You can also put a memory card or USB directly into this printer which is very convenient.

It was really easy to set the printer up. I popped to epson.co.uk to set up an account which took less than 5 minutes. Almost all Epson printers are compatible with this service and to check your you can head to https://readyink.epson.eu/gb/en/start.html. This means that when the printer is getting low on ink it will trigger my account to send out what was required. Then it just arrives at my door and I don’t even have to think about it! Perfection! Seriously, the less I have to think about the better. ReadyInk is actually the only service of its type that doesn’t force people into a subscription. So if you’re commitment phobic, fear not, they’ve got you covered.

The Expression Photo XP-8500 Small-in-One printer is a professional quality printer wrapped up in a streamlined package. The cartridges last a surprisingly long time (obviously depending on what we are actually printing). Also bear in mind that the individual inks mean you only replace the cartridge that runs out. It prints really quietly too, which is great, as believe me we don’t need any more noise in this house!

You can use it to print borderless photos up to 8″ x 10″ with 6-color Claria® Photo HD Inks and it can even print 4″ x 6″ photos as quickly as in 10 seconds. We take a LOT of photos and so it’s nice to be able to print them out straight away. I love that it’s wireless, as it makes setup and use so much easier. It also means we can print from our phones too, which is really useful.
I love any service which takes tasks out of your day and simplifies life and ReadyInk does just that. Have you tried ReadyInk?
