It’s time to say #Thisisme

Have you ever felt as if you’re not enough? Not good enough? Or liked enough? That something about you just isn’t enough?

Maybe an old partner made you feel like you don’t measure up or perhaps it was a family member? An employer who you just couldn’t seem to ever be good enough for?

We look to the media and all we see is a version of happiness and success that we begin to think is the norm. Bit by bit this ideology seeps into our beings like osmosis. Before long we totally believe that we will never be happy, successful or loved if we don’t fit this mould. A mould that others have created.

Successful women are put together.

Successful women’s beauty is plain to see.

Successful women are confident with their size.

Successful women a blow-dried, plucked, preened and have their lives together.

We might try to reach these dizzy heights, but it takes its toll. For those of us with families, kids and the daily juggle. It can be a struggle to get out of our PJs, let alone be camera ready.

The cycle begins again as our feelings of inadequacy grow.

It can be so easy to hold ourselves back from really showing up. From putting ourselves out there and being visible in our businesses. We’ve let these feelings chip away at our confidence and self-esteem. Until we aren’t even that confident about our skills and experience anymore. Hiding our gifts for fear we might be rejected again. Or worries that we can’t possible match up to those images we have in our head or what success looks like.

SayNoToShiny

We ALL have amazing gifts that need to be shared. There are people out there who NEED to hear what we have to say. It’s time to  #ThisIsMe. Join our campaign as our stand against a culture of perfection.

Of feelings of inadequacy.
Of stopping ourselves because we feel as if we’re not good enough. Slim enough. Pretty enough. Put together enough.
Of feelings that we don’t fit the mould of what female success looks like.

It’s our time to rise.

To say that we are enough.
