If you ask ten people which room in their house was most important to them, you would probably get a few different answers. The answers depends on their lifestyle and where they like to spend most time. I don’t spend much time in the kitchen, so a fancy kitchen full of gadgets would be a little wasted on me.
I recently created a small office space in the corner of our living room, but I still long for my own office with it’s very own door! It would be wonderful to be able to spread out a bit more and for my office to have it’s own decor, rather than just fitting in with our living space.
TSB asked me to indulge myself for a while and share my ideas for my dream space and I love an excuse to do a spot of window shopping! I think a white base is great for an office, as you can change the accessories, bits and pieces to give you a totally different room, without getting the paint brushes out. Which in my book is a serious winner, I HATE painting.

Having enough space to pop a couch in the office would be ideal for me. Somewhere to sit and get away from my computer screen; while enjoying my new favourite drink, a chia latte.
I adore bright sweet coloured accessories, here are some bit and pieces that I would love in my dream office space.

Apart from the bonus of being surrounded by such pretty things, I also think having a separate room for an office would really improve my work life balance. I would want to finish work to go and be with my family. Whereas now, it is all too easy to try to do both, sound familiar?!
My dream office may be a fair while off for me yet, as we are moving to rented accommodation in France in 2017. We will be in France for five years, allowing us to save a deposit for a house, then on our return we will be searching for a new house. Using a tool such as the TSB mortgage calculator would help us to work out what we would be able to afford and critically whether we have enough money for my office!

Hubby and I both do a lot of work from home. We just sold our dream house in the country to move closer to our children school. At our house we had an office which was more hubby dream office than mine, and I tended to work more on my favourite comfy chair in my bedroom. We are in my parents home whilst we build our new house and there is no space for an office here, we are feeling very cramped and messy! The new house will be smaller than our old house as being closer to the city it is more expensive. We haven’t quite worked out yet where will allocate for working, but hoping we can find a little spot to accommodate our needs (fingers crossed)

I love the white and lights but I know mine would never stay that tidy!
I have a desk in our office at home (with a very old, very slow pc) but it’s very much BattleDad’s space as he works from home every Friday. It’s full of Judge Dredd and Warhammer things and I don’t feel comfortable in it. So I tend to work on my laptop on our breakfast counter in the kitchen so I can do things on the blog in between cooking etc, plus it’s closer to the kettle and our Dulce Gusto where I can make my favourite drink, a chai tea latte! I really would love a little corner like you to call my own. Maybe I need to sweet talk BattleDad into redecorating the office and splitting it in half!

I do work from home and have a nice view out my sliding glass doors and into my backyard which is full of trees and some wildlife.
I just returned from working while traveling through SE Asia and that was even better at times.
I work from home but mainly from my dining table or the sofa!! I really need to create myself a nice clear space for when I want to sit down and work. I love the white clean design. Xx

We built a new room for my home office when I had to start working from home about 4.5 years ago. It was also meant to house my birthing pool for Monkey – which it did at least for half the labour but thats another story!! Couldn’t resist playing around with the mortgage calculator we are thinking about moving but taking on a large mortgage is a big step! France sounds amazing 🙂 are you going to teach Baby French too? How exciting x

My own office would be a dream! I both blog and work from home. We have quite a large open kitchen and i’m stationed one side of it! The bonus point is though it’s near the kettle ;).

I wish that I had an office to call my own but sadly it is not meant to be as we do not have enough space at the moment! We are relocating in the next year so hopefully I will get my own blogging space!
I made a pinterest board in the early hours of this morning with the same concept. I have a little space in our bedroom where I blog so took inspiration from Pinterest. I love your ideas too

We do have a spare bedroom which would make an ideal office, but at the moment with having a baby, it’s not at the top of my list to do as I need to be downstairs with him. Maybe when he’s older though!
Great read Aby! As we start planning our move back to Brighton in January, a home office redo is definitely top on my list 🙂 It’s not really a proper office, but a little extra space in our bedroom which I can’t wait to decorate! xx
I work from home a bit and will be doing a lot more in the near future. I’m lucky to have a desk but it’s in our conservatory which doubles as a playroom so I don’t feel it’s totally mine. It’s also a tip. I need to get better at keeping it tidy and maybe adding a few accessories to personalise it. Thanks for the inspiration!
An office! How I would love even a corner of the house to work in that wasn’t full of baby stuff (buggy, small car seats, steriliser). But I’m keeping hold of the dream. That move to France sounds a cunning move: I hope it goes well. x
