It can be really difficult to feed your kids healthy, natural food, that they will actually eat. Baby is a fussy eater and her antics have caused me so much stress over the last couple of years. I am sure we all want to feed our children the best food we can, but when they won’t eat it, it can get stressful trying to provide them with a balanced diet.
Sandwiches are usually a good bet with children and Baby has sandwiches a few times a week for lunch. There was a time when we would have been encouraged to buy a margarine spread which was low in fat; believing it was a healthier option than butter. However, as we are learning more about food, we know that a more natural product is better for our family than something with the fat removed and artificial ingredients added. Clover has no artificial ingredients but it still has a delicious buttery taste.

Baby would always prefer to drink over eat and I have tried various strategies to encourage her to eat her meals. One thing that has started to work well for us is making her food fun. In the past I have underestimated the power of fun food, believing that it couldn’t possibly make such a difference, but wow I was wrong!

I’m not sure about you, but I don’t have hours to spare to allow me to create the perfect bento box packed with delicious morsels for Baby, but I do have things at home which I can put to good use to creating a fun lunch for her to (hopefully) enjoy!

First on my equipment list was a star cookie cutter, I would never have believed that just cutting her sandwich into a shape would make it more desirable to eat, but it totally does.
I haven’t got any food picks at home, so I made my own little flags from cocktail sticks and washi tape. Literally two minutes and they were done.

I then used a silicone cupcake mould to house some raisins and made a fruit butterfly from a peg and a food bag!

Bless her, she was so thrilled when her little couch picnic arrived. Now I have a confession; Baby hates butter/spread. Her sandwiches are usually dry bread and ham. So when I popped the sandwiches made using Clover in front of her, I wasn’t all that hopefully that she would even try them. I genuinely don’t think I have ever seen her eat a sandwich so eagerly. She adored her little flags. Who knew flags would have such an impact!

She insisted on putting the flag back in the sandwich after each bite, so cute! When all the small stars had been munched I chopped up the big star and put the discarded picks into the sections, which were then immediately eaten too.

Clover can be used in cooking, as well as an everyday spread and is the first major UK spread that delivers a recipe with absolutely no artificial ingredients and half the saturated fat of butter (also suitable for Vegeterians).

I love her little face, she was so happy with her picnic.

yummy!

I feel happy giving Clover to Baby and I am so glad I have found something which is both natural and healthy.

Do your kids eat well? What is your go to lunch for your little ones?
