Lighthouse Isla coat review

I was recently introduced to Lighthouse Clothing, who have created outerwear which doesn’t compromise style over functionality. With Lighthouse you can have both. I was offered a coat and I chose the Isla Short Waterproof Coat in Watermelon, as it’s such a gorgeous colour.

I know this coat is a little snug at the moment, but I am just so thrilled that after losing 3.5 stone I can actually get into it at all! Give me another couple of weeks and it will be just perfect.

The coat is beautifully made with strong attention to detail; the drawcord at the waist has antique brass toggles and buttons, which really compliment the look of the coat. The fabric is highly waterproof, while remaining breathable; so important in our wet, but clammy British weather.

With fully taped seams ensure it’s windproof and toasty whatever the weather throws at you. I really like that, although the fabric is a performance fabric and I know it’s going to keep me warm and dry, it’s still soft and lightweight. There’s nothing worse than bulky coats. The hood folds neatly away when not in use and there’s a two-way zip at the front.

The coat is so lightweight and easily folds up to fit in my bag, meaning I can take it out with me everywhere. So handy!

I really like the length of this coat. Having wide hips, sometimes longer line coats are a poor fit on me, but I really like this mid hip length. The best bit? If it gets dirty (which let’s face it with a young child around is a given!), I can just chuck it in the washing machine, no special washing is required.

I love the range of outwear offered by Lighthouse and I know I will shop there again in the future.

Disclosure: I was given this coat in return for an honest review.
