We love being outside and with a high-energy child, sometimes being in the great outdoors blowing off steam is the best place for us to be! We’re often at the stables, out visiting a farm or just feeding the ducks; which is one of our favourite things to do.
We’re so lucky to have pretty countryside all around where we live. Our nearest town has a canal running through it and the friendliest ducks and swans you could ever wish to meet. On occasion they can be a little too friendly, with the swans getting a bit too close for comfort.
Millets kindly sent Ava and I a new North Face jacket each and we couldn’t wait to get outside and give them a whirl.

I chose the women’s two-tone Kayenta Jacket. This is such a lightweight and breathable, but surprisingly warm, waterproof jacket. It has a removable hood and two large zipped pockets; perfect for all my shiz! I really liked the colour combination and that is was warm without adding lots of bulk. I try to avoid the michelin man look if at all possible!

Ava was sent the North Face Eliana 3-in-1 Triclimate jacket. I sized up a little, as we all know how fast kids grow. It features a waterproof outer layer with DryVent technology, which means maximum protection from rain, sleet and snow, while it remains breathable. The inner layer is a detachable pink fleece; great for adding extra warmth or to wear on its own on warmer days. It also has zipped pockets, much to Ava’s delight as she LOVES to ‘collect’ things!

We had such a lovely time and as usual Ava had to climb on everything she could! Her spirit animal is definitely a Mountain Goat! A feral Mountain Goat!

She was fascinated by the lock, sadly a barge didn’t come along to demo it for us. Although Ava was prepared to wait some time just in case. Eventually we managed to persuade her that it wasn’t going to happen and continued on our walk.

I remember when I first moved to the area almost 20 years ago, I used to think the town was really quaint. One of my favourite areas was this section of the canal with its cute white bridges. I’m really glad that Ava gets to grow up embracing the outdoors and loving the countryside.

We both love our new jackets and will get so much wear out of them on our adventures.

Disclosure: We were given these jackets in return for an honest review.
