Creating a tranquil bedroom with B&Q

I always dreamed of a tranquil bedroom that was pretty and would be a space where I could relax. Like most parents, our daughter comes first and she has gorgeous bedroom, while we made do with embarrassingly shabby painting and furniture that had definitely seen better days (especially when my wardrobe door fell off!).

I collaborated with B&Q before Christmas when they gave our living/dining room a mini makeover for the festive season and I was thrilled when they offered to collaborate again. This time to help me solve our storage problems (a distinct lack of hanging space for all of my clothes….) and to help us to create a beautiful bedroom; one which we definitely wouldn’t be embarrassed of.

I was thrilled when they offered to provided us a gift card to buy of painting supplies and accessories, as well as sending us new furniture.  I chose the made to measure minimalist linen effect sliding door unit, as hanging space and an uncluttered look was high on my wish list.

For the rest of the furniture we opted for the Isabella set in white wood. Our house is so dark and so it was important to bring light into the room anyway we could.  The wardrobe is really sizeable and the co-ordinating drawers and bedside tables tie it all together.

Much to Mr Hubby’s dismay I chose some cushions for the bed. What is it with men and cushions, they just don’t get it do they?!

The curtains we chose were duck egg blue to match our walls and I am totally in love with the bedding. I crossed my fingers when I asked Mr Hubby if he minded pink flowers on our bed, thankfully he relented.

As you can see it wasn’t long before Baby made herself at home!

Thanks so much to B&Q for giving us the bedroom of our dreams, we are very grateful and have loved working with you.

Disclosure: The furniture, paint, soft furnishings and most of the accessories were provided by B&Q, all opinions are my own.

  1. OOh I’ve been waiting for this post and I LOVE it – you’ve done such a good job! I had no idea that B&Q stocked so many wonderful things too. I LOVE the white furniture, it’s my fave. The bedding is gorgeous too – very Cath Kidston. Baby is almost camouflaged ha ha! You’ve done a beautiful job, it looks lovely and serene x x

  2. Oooh it looks gorgeous, so restful and grown up. We are in a similar situation as you used to be- doing the girls’ rooms up first whilst our room is a cream box, with piles of clothes everywhere! Enjoy x
