We are beginning the count down the months until our move to France. It will be around June/July next year when we ship ourselves and our possessions across the channel to set up home somewhere near Dijon. Although our current house is home, design wise it has never really been how I would have wanted it and, as we inherited the tenancy, we have just made do as we have grown as a family. Our next home will also be rented, but we will be able to choose the house we want and with the allocated budget it will be considerably larger than the house we have now. Also because we will be able to select the house we want to live in, we WILL choose a house with lots of natural daylight. Our current home is a bit like a cave and I long for light streaming in through aluminium bi fold doors that open right back to give an uninterrupted view of the garden… well a girl can dream can’t she?!
I love greys, whites and silver tones in living spaces, they look clean and chic and you can always add a pop of colour for interest. Adding the colour with accessories means that you can easily and economically change the ‘pop’ colour without repainting walls, which let’s face it no-one enjoys!
I have been lusting at interiors over on pinterest and here’s a peek at my dream living space board.

I love an opulent feel, without it being too fussy and a couch like this one would be perfect for us. At the moment we have a leather sofa and while it has been great during Baby’s early years, making cleaning up spillages much easier, it isn’t a cosy as a fabric one would be.

We are big lovers of shopping in IKEA, there is always such great choice and they cater for most budgets too. Here are my top IKEA sofa picks in store at the moment.

If you’re planning an interior make-over you can get inspiration from so many places; Pinterest is a big favourite of mine, but also most of the main home brands have an inspiration section on their website, such as Homebase. Sometimes surfing around can give you some really fresh ideas, maybe ideas outside your comfort zone.
What would your dream living space be like? Do you like a muted colour scheme or are you more bold and brave in your choices?
