The perfect kids’ bedroom

Getting the decoration of your kid’s bedroom right can be a difficult and sometimes impossible task. They’re not always totally happy with its appearance or your efforts! Whether you have the next Harry Kane or a budding Princess Anna from Frozen there are some great ideas out there guaranteed to make their rooms perfect.

First things first… the bed

You need to make sure you pick them the right bed and ensure it’s as comfortable as possible. There’s a brilliant selection of mattresses from Bed Guru if you’re looking for something that’s super comfy that they’ll love.

Kids sometimes like to have that little bit of extra wiggle room, so if you have the space it may be worth getting them a double bed. Often kids like to have specifically designed beds. A football theme or princess theme might be right up their street.

Make the most of the space you have

If space is a premium, you need to fully utilise what you have, especially with the bed! Be realistic, if you don’t have the room then a double bed probably isn’t a good idea.

Cabin beds are brilliant! They take up the space of a regular bed, but come with some extras that will revolutionise your kids’ bedroom. They give you somewhere to store the clutter and clothes that litter their room, keeping it all nice and tidy. Cabin beds sometimes also have space for studying and playing, kids tend to love them! You may also need to try and find a wardrobe with plenty of storage, as this keeps the free space as open as possible.

Get the design right

Last but not least, the room needs to actually look good. They don’t want it to look boring and plain. Kids love a bit of colour or a nice funky design.

Some might like more neutral colours like greys, blues or pinks, but these colours don’t often create much wow factor. You can get themed decoration, such as a jungle or princess palace theme. Speak to them first and find out what they would like their room to be transformed into.

I hope these suggestions help you to decorate your kids’ bedroom and make it look wonderful. Take the time to plan and get it right the first time because you don’t want to have to do it again because they’ve had a change of heart. If you have any suggestions, feel free to let me know, I’d love to hear them!
