I was tagged a couple of weeks ago by the gorgeous Mim over at Mamamin.com in the 10 things you didn’t know about me tag. So here goes;
1. What’s your name and where’d you come from? (paying homage to the late, great Cilla)
Hi Cilla Mim, I’m Aby and I come from Cheshire (audience whoop?!)
2. Why do you blog?
Wow, I don’t really know where to start, this seems like a simple question and two years ago I would have said I blog as a way to record our family memories. Now, it is so much more than that (although memory capture will always play a significant part). I blog now because I need to, not through obligation, but because I have a huge desire to do it. Blogging has given me so much and I have a need to stay connected to that and to get everything I can from blogging and in return give everything I can back to blogging.
3. Where would you travel to that you haven’t already been and why?
I haven’t really travelled that much. I owned horses for most of my life and they always came first, so there are lots of places I would love to go. Top of my list though is America, first stop NYC.
4. Who’s your favourite Blogger?
Ah this is too hard! I absolutely cannot pick just one, it would make me sad. I recently wrote a post about the 6 bloggers who had rocked my 2 blogging years. so I think that sums up my favourites.
5. If you could collaborate with just one brand on your blog, who would it be?
One of the things I love most about blogging is the unexpected. You can literally be sitting at your PC or out playing in the park (with Baby, otherwise that would just be weird!) and an email pings into your inbox. That email could be from a brand you don’t even know, but it could be for a really exciting project. At the moment we would love to take Baby abroad next year, so I would love to work with a travel brand (wouldn’t we all?!).
6. What is your proudest achievement, aside from your children?
My blog. I was lost after Baby’s birth, suffering from PND and I started my blog on a whim. I won’t say it was easy, far from it, but over the past two years, still having my struggles, I have made my blog into a highly ranked blog, with a decent readership, receiving lovely opportunities and have made THE BEST friends I could have hoped for.
7. Why did you choose your blog name?
Oh I don’t really know and actually I’m not sure I even like it! I have people telling me it’s a good name, but I’m not convinced. I decided on it in about ten minutes or less, it was similar to Tarzan and Jane – You Tarzan, Me Jane… No idea why! I just wanted it to encompass us both and that is where I ended up.
8. Who’s your no. 1 celebrity crush?
Channing Tatum.
9. What is your biggest regret in life?
I don’t think regrets are that healthy, but I owned a house when I was 20 and sold it to go to University. I wish I had kept hold of it as it would be worth A LOT more now.
10. What’s your no. 1 blogging tip?
Ha ha, I bet my friends know the answer to this! I harp on about it enough, but it would be to use an editorial calendar (preferably the plugin). However, a diary or spreadsheet will do, if you’re not on WordPress.
I now have to tag some other bloggers and ask them some questions. I love Mim’s questions, so I will tag the following people to answer the same questions that I did.
Amy
Em
Amber
If anyone else reading would like to do this tag, consider yourself tagged by me!

It takes about 20 seconds to add the plugin and it will change your life! xx
Lovely to read more about you. The name of the blog is a tricky one but I like yours, it’s definitely unique 🙂 xx
Author
Thanks lovely, it is difficult to think objectively when we are so close to our own names xx
The mere thought of a calendar exhausts me! I have so much respect and admiration for those of you that manage it though.
Super questions! Loved your answers and can’t wait to share mine; thanks for the tag. x

Oh I would die without mine! Can’t wait to read yours x
I love these types of posts. Getting to know more about bloggers is great! I agree with the Editorial calendar. I resisted using one for so long but I don’t know why. It is a great resource and helps me to stay organised. Fingers crossed for that travel opportunity 🙂 #BriliantBlogPosts
I love Channing Tatum too! Lovely to know a bit more about you Aby. 😉 x
Author
😉 Thanks huni xx
This is a great idea to get to know fellow bloggers. I’ve only being doing this for a month so very new to it all. It’s great to be part of a new community and your blog posts are so helpful.
Author
Ah glad they help x
Enjoyed reading this, Aby. I love the US, hope you get there soon x
Author
Thanks lovely, it would be fab x
So lovely to find out more about you Aby, I had no idea you lived in Cheshire, a gorgeous part of the world. I really like your blog name, it’s catchy and I always say my children will be my babies even when they grow up so it’s timeless. I really, really need an editorial calendar and was only thinking this the other night, my schedule is insane so needs more organisation. Thanks for linking up to #brilliantblogposts x
Author
Thanks hun, Well her nickname is Baby and we call her that more than her real name, so it makes sense for us. I am a visual person so the editorial calendar plugin is perfect for me x
I do think your blog name is inspired, I really do. I wouldn’t say it if I didn’t mean it! x

Thanks huni xx
I love reading these type of posts because I’m a bit nosy if truth be told 😉 xx #sundaystars
I like your blog name but I know what you mean, you start it on a whim and then it becomes such an important part of your life. But because you call Baby,Baby, if you know what I mean, it sort of fits. I didn’t know you were from Cheshire, me too originally. I use an old fashioned paper diary because I tried to be self hosted and it was a disaster, so until I master it, I don’t think I can have plug ins. A great list x
Author
Thanks hun, I get good feedback about it, but I just feel odd about it some days x
Author
Thank you lovely. There are so many guides on how to move to self hosted x
Hi Aby,
Lovely to find out a little bit more about one of my blog-idols 😉 As a newby, I’m loving how much there is to learn in blogging…I’m intrigued to find out more about this editorial scheduling…what is it? How do I do it? I love a bit of organisation so it sounds right up my street! Any pointers be much appreciated x MMT #sundaystars
Author
Oh wow, I am so flattered 🙂 Are you on Self hosted WP? If so you just need to install the Editorial Calendar plugin x
Really enjoyed this! Though I may have to google Channing Tatum! haha x
Enjoy! X MMT

I love this great to get to know you a little more! I have just downloaded editorial calendar, lets see if I get on with it. Thanks lovely xx
Author
Oh hun, I am sure you will it is my fav thing ever 😉 xx
I always love reading posts like this and getting to ‘know’ my fav bloggers a little better! You’ve done so well with your blog and should be very proud of yourself. I really need to use that editorial calendar a little more xx
Author
Ah thanks so much you are so kind xx
Funny how many people start their blog with a title they haven’t spent much time thinking about and then go on to be hugely successful (I’m also thinking Katie from Mummy Daddy and Me Makes Three who then went on to become a family of four!). I am the opposite – I put off starting my blog for a long time because I didn’t want to get stuck with the wrong name! Maybe I should be more spontaneous in the future – no wonder I never get anything done! 🙂 Thanks for hosting #thelist

It was literally a few minutes and now I am too close to see it objectively. x
Ah, it’s nice to learn more about you! Choosing a site name was agonizing for me. Yours is so witty I thought it must have taken you months to decide. You have done an amazing job building up your blog, you are an inspiration to me as a new blogger. And, you will adore NYC when you get there!! x #ThList
Author
Ah thanks, I am too close to it to hear it objectively. Thanks for your lovely comment x
Good answers! I agree with you on regrets! #thelist

Me too! xx
I was the same with the blog name, 5-10 mins and it was decided and I just started writing and it kind of stuck. I quite like it and I’m glad in a way I didn’t think too much about it as I can be quite indecisive!! X
Fab answers!! Love hearing more about people, I’ve just got the editorial plug in hope I love it as much as you do!x
Author
You will, I just know it x
Great post – horses were a big part of my life too. #TheList
Your love of blogging comes through loud and clear. And why not love something that you are extremely good at and unselfish in the way you help others. Cheshire hey? Just down the road then
Author
Aww thanks so much such a lovely comment x
Your have horses! Ethan said to me the other day “Mummy, I want horses.” I laughed “Who’s going to look after it?” I used to have a cat for 17human years but passed away when Ethan was 2yrs old. He was heartbroken. 🙁 I don’t think he can cope very well with having more pet. I would too love to work with travel brand. 😀
Great answers 🙂 I love your blog’s name. I always think of it as Baby arguing with you (not in a bad way) and you saying “no, you baby, me mummy” lol! Thanks for hosting #TheList

Thanks me too! 🙂 x
What a lovely thing to be tagged for! You obviously care a lot about blogging in general, and not just your own blog. I think it’s great that you offer so much advice to other bloggers just starting out. x

Ah I love this! So wonderful to hear more about you. Cheshire ey?! In my book, I count that as oop North, which is ALWAYS a good thing.
I love your name, I think it’s perfect for your blog and i have to say, as bloggers go, you should be rightly proud of yourself. You’ve achieved so much in such a short space of time. Well done darling. x

Ah thank you lovely. Sometimes we are too close to our names to see them obhectively I think. I alway wish it was shorter and snappier. Thanks hun xxx
