Last Friday, Baby went to her first ballet class and we were so lucky to have a couple of her friends enrolled in the same class. The girls have known each other since they were four months old and are the very best of friends. It always seems strange that, as a group, we have gone from chatting and drinking tea while we watched our babies lie together on play mats, to chasing around our crazy little ladies and starting classes like ballet together. Time moves so fast.

Baby was so excited and had been telling everyone all week that she was going to ballet. She had been watching the ballerina in her jewellery box twirl round, time and time again, which had heightened her excitement.

She loves dancing, so I had a feeling she would love it. I just adore her little outfit. I couldn’t resist getting her the leotard, tights and shoes (oh and obviously she needed leg warmers!) and we already had a tutu and bolero at home.
The teacher was amazing and really captured the children’s attention. Baby was hooked from the start and loved it even more when she played the ‘Let it go’ and they got to wear bracelets with ribbons attached to them.

They danced and twirled, skipped around, wore tiaras and played sleeping ballerinas under a giant parachute. Pretty close to a perfect morning when you are two. I was really pleased with how Baby focused. There was a time when she would have taken herself off to try to play with the fire door or a plug socket; but now she loves to learn and get involved, which is so lovely to see.

It was such a wonderful class and I can’t remember a time when I felt as proud of Baby as I did then. Seeing her intently watching the teacher, trying to copy every move; I was heart-burstingly proud.

Aren’t they just adorable! What has been your proudest parenting moment so far?

oh my word this is adorable! How cute does Baby look! It’s great to hear that she had so much fun – I am totally inspired to see if there is something like this running near us. I hope she continues to have lots of fun at ballet
Bless, all these little tutus 🙂 We want to give baby ballet a go as well – my daughter loves dancing and is very physical so I bet it would be right up her street. It looks like your little one had a wonderful time 🙂
Oh Aby, cute factor goes through the roof here!
So glad she enjoyed her class, she’s such a confident little lady xxx
She looks so cute. It is wonderful that she enjoys it so much. I took my daughter to a ballet class over a year ago and it was very structured and she just sat on my lap. It was not the right time or class. I love watching her being so fearless meeting new children at the park. Thank you for sharing such a special moment with us. #TheOrdinaryMoments
