Baby turned two on Monday and we decided to have a mini celebration at home. Mr Hubby had the day off work so, in the morning before Baby came downstairs, we took it in turns to go down to the living room and get everything ready for her big present reveal. Baby adores balloons and so we knew she would love it if we covered the living room with them.
We picked up a Balloon Time helium kit from ASDA; the kit contains a lightweight, portable helium tank, 30 colourful latex balloons and a spool of white ribbon. We still have half a tank left and, as helium doesn’t expire, we can use it for our next celebration.

We left the strings dangling so that she would be able to grab them herself. It was quite magical walking into the room to see all her presents under a sea of balloons.
It was so convenient to be able to inflate all the balloons at home and not have to worry about having to collect them from the shop already inflated; which can be a bit awkward!
Her little face was a picture and she said ‘wow’ when she saw the room for the first time. She spent all morning pulling the balloons down and then letting them go, while saying ‘weeeee’! She would wander off to play with some of her new toys, always with a balloon in hand; before returning to do it all again.
Then, we went to lunch with our friends and Baby was keen to take some balloons with us. We did get some odd glances wandering through town on the way to meet our friends; I can’t think why?! The girls then enjoyed playing with the balloons during lunch, letting them go so us mummys had to retrieve them from the cafe ceiling!
It was definitely a birthday that we will cherish.

My sister got one of these kits for a baby shower she was hosting, she recommended them to me but I completely forgot, which is a shame as my daughter’s birthday was last week – fail!
