Busy Mamapreneur? Need help around the home? Roomba ® 980

If you’ve been following me for any length of time you will never have heard me profess to be a domestic goddess… Quite the opposite in fact. If it wasn’t for my hubby I would be surviving on cereal and living in a hovel!

As a busy ‘home-based’ Mamaprepreneur there are so many balls to juggle on a daily basis. Just to get Ava to school on time and make sure I’m doing enough work to serve my audience and move by business forward.

I’m so much better at running a business than I am at cleaning.  Our fur-dropping pooches Lily and Lou Lou make it difficult for me to achieve domestic-goddess status, even if I wanted to. Throw into the mix our new house in France, which is about 5 times the size of our old house and I needed help.

I considered hiring a cleaner, but then I would have to talk to them. They would speak French, I don’t, which would turn into another headache. I needed a better plan and one that wouldn’t have me heading to Google Translate every 5 minutes…..

Enter Roomba ® 980 from iRobot.

Roomba ® might well have changed my life. Seriously, I know that’s a bold statement, but this intelligent vacuum is the BOMB!

Roomba®, or as Ava has named it ‘Bob’ is your electronic cleaner. Bob Roomba® gets to work vacuuming every inch of your home while you do more important things. It’s GENIUS!

Using iAdapt® 2.0 Navigation with Visual Localisation Roomba ® can navigate an entire floor of your home and keep track of where it’s been. It uses a high-efficiency cleaning pattern with sensors to manoeuvre around objects before taking itself back to the docking station to charge. Yes, you heard me right! It goes back to charge itself! Mic drop! Less responsibility for me to remember to charge it! Whoop!

It will clean continuously for up to 75 mins and will recharge when necessary before completing the job. Roomba ® automatically adjusts to different floor types, so can seamlessly clean carpets, tile, hardwood, and laminate floors as it goes about its work. We have tiled floors, but lots of different types of rugs so it’s perfect for us.

I’m so blown away by how clever it is. Charging itself and also it uses cliff-detection sensors to ensure it won’t plummet down the stairs! It just happily goes about its work until you move it to another floor in your house. It’s super light too, so there are no worries on that score.

I LOVE ROOMBA ®, I just wanted to put it out there! Honestly, this little beauty is life-changing. It makes me feel like a domestic goddess without me having to even locate a vacuum that’s actually charged… We’ve had Roomba ® for a few weeks and it has made such a difference already. 

My dogs drop hair as easily as they breathe and Roomba ® takes care of it. Our rugs have never looked so good and I don’t have to get on my hands and knees and scrape them with the shower squidgy anymore!

It has rotating extractors with a durable rubber tread design which grabs dirt. The spinning side brush pushes small bits and bobs into the system. Optical and acoustic sensors detect large amounts of dirt, dust, and pet hair and then performs focused cleaning on these spots, which is why it does such a good job on our rugs!

Roomba ® claims to capture 99% of allergens, pollen, and particles using the AeroForce® High-Efficiency Filter, which is fab in a doggy house.

Think that’s good so far? Yes, it is but it’s about to get better. Roomba ® connects to the iRobot HOME App, which means you can tell it to start cleaning when you’re not even at home! I need another mic to drop. I wish I had a camera at home so I could see the dogs reactions when it springs to life! It will also message you if it has a problem or gets stuck. Although this rarely happens as it’s really good at navigating small differences in height.

We just have a quick scoot round and remove anything from the floor and then either press CLEAN on the app or use the button on Roomba ® itself and it goes off on it’s merry way.

If you have a weekly routine, you can schedule Roomba ® to clean at specific times. Maybe when you’re out doing the school run or while you’re at the shops, so you can come back to a clean house without having to lift a finger.

There are not many things I love more in my life than Roomba ®. Maybe my husband and kid, but you know at times even that’s touch and go….
