Life’s Ups and Downs

I don’t think that I have ever started to write a post, without fully knowing what the point of it is.  Yet this is what I am doing now.  Last week was a whirlwind of awesomeness.  I genuinely couldn’t believe the blogging opportunities being presented to me.  I work very hard on my blog, so I guess it was some of that hard work paying off.  Then Friday arrived and we got some news that means our future is very uncertain.  Nothing to do with our family’s health or relationships, but in a few months time our lives may be very different.  The news is like a black cloud, however much I try to look for the sun, the cloud drifts into my view.

We will not know the result of this news for a few months and I cannot, I WILL not be affected by it, until it happens.  So I am focusing on the simple things to help me.  Most importantly; We will still be together as a family.

I felt anxious today and decided just to drink in our beautiful daughter.  Her beauty and the light she radiates will not change.  At the end of the day, as long as we still have each other, the rest is window dressing.

Baby 4

So we sat on the floor and built mega blocks towers.  The worries melting away as we helped each other build our imaginary worlds.  Trying to build the biggest tower we could to show to Daddy when he arrived home.  Baby straining to put the block on the very top of the tower.

Baby 5

Baby 6

Each time it collapsed, we laughed and started again.  I love her focus.

Baby 2

Sitting on the floor, nothing else mattered; no-one can touch us, as what we have is unbreakable.

Baby 3

In the end the unbreakable relationships are the only thing that really matter.

Baby 1

Our little family will always be, wherever we are and whatever we are doing.

  1. oh Aby that sounds very ominous. I think you’re right though – focus on the positives right now – it sounds like whatever is coming is not yet confirmed or set in stone? You have my fingers crossed for you and a big hug! X

  3. Gosh whatever it is I hope it works out in the best possible way. Family is the most important thing and like you when I have something troubling me I tend to just focus on my little boy and play a game with him or head out for a walk and I feel better. Hope all works out well #ShareWithMe

  6. I’ve always lived by the saying, “Things always workout. Maybe not the way that we think they should, but always the way they are meant to.” Good luck in the future and keep enjoying your beautiful daughter.

  10. Too true hunny.

Its these “test” that make us into the incredible people we are. You’re completely right to stand tall, “Que Sera Sera” and as long as we have family we are already winners.

    Thinking of you x

  11. I’m sorry to hear about the news and hoping it all works out in the end. I just love the expressions on Baby’s face, she’s concentrating so hard. During hard times I look at Steve and Oliver as my rocks, they keep me a float and as long as they are around I will be steady and can face anything.

  14. Oh hun that sounds a bit scary, the fear of the unknown is usually way way worse than the thing itself if that makes sense? Good for you for focusing on your gorgeous girl & trying to stay positive. I’m a very big believer in the fact that everything happens for a reason, so whatever big change is looming I’m sure will be the right thing, have faith xx

  18. Just wanted to say I hope whatever it is turns out OK in the end.
So true that our families are the most important thing, everything else can change/be rebuilt.
Sometimes uncertainty is the worst bit – once you know what you’re dealing with you can adapt.
    Best of luck.

  21. I’m not quite sure how I have not been following your blog before, as I’ve just spent ages going through your recent blog posts and relating to them all!

First off, I’m so happy to see you getting some great opportunities via the blog – very well deserved!! But secondly, and possibly more importantly, I’m sorry to hear there is uncertainty looming over you. I know how terrifying that can feel… And yet you have a beautiful response to it!

We’ve been learning to live in the moment lately, and in fact my word for this year was surrender. Our world was turned upside down with redundancy and yet I feel so much calmer within the uncertainty than I did last year when fighting to hold everything together. Sometimes, just sometimes, these times of uncertainty make us realise what really matters and that gives us strength and hope we could never have imagined before.

I do so hope you continue to feel supported and move through this uncertainty with the most beautiful things (your family) shining brightly. It will be tough at times, but you will be okay x

Thank you so much for such a wonderful comment, it is very kind of you. We have no choice but to deal with the hand we are dealt, but I am not going to let worry paralyse me, until we know things for sure. I hope things pick up for you too x

  22. Oh sweetie, I’m so sorry to read this but you are so, so right, we’ve had some personal sadness recently, things I don’t write about on the blog that really bring what matters into perspective and focus, all that matters is you and your little family. I look at my kids and husband and all the little things in life and know, they too are all that matters. Sending you so much love. Thanks darling too, for linking up to #brilliantblogposts x
