Mums’ List #8

I am joining in again with the fabulous Hannah over at Mums’ Days and her linky. Mums’ List allows us to share the highlights (personal and blogging) of our week and also the things that still need to be ticked off our Mums’ Lists!

Mums list Mums List #7

REAL LIFE

  • I still need masses of inspiration for our decorating #boring.
  • We need to finish painting Baby’s playhouse, so I can get on with the fun job of personalising it.
  • I need to source a big toy storage unit for our living room.  Any suggestions?
  • Baby went to her first swimming lesson #NeedNewEarDrums
  • Investigate sensory play options for Baby.
  • Devise some different lunches and snacks for Baby.

BLOG & SOCIAL MEDIA

  • I gave my archive some love with Evergreen.  This is a fabulous plug in for self hosted wordpress peeps,  which automatically tweets out old posts for you.  You can set times, day and age of post.  Then just leave everything else to Evergreen.  I love this minimum effort for maximum reward.
  • I added the Editorial calendar plug in-  another one for self hosted WP users.  This is amazing!  It shows a calendar page that you can drag your draft posts onto, move them around etc.  This makes planning and prioritising so much easier, especially if you are a visual person.
  • I finally got round to adding the ‘Related Posts‘ plug in to my blog (hooray for me!).
  • I was very glad to look after #TWTWC for Hannah at Make, Do & Push, one of my favourite blogs, while she was on holiday.
  • I won a computer,  yes an actual computer, for this post I wrote about my Wonderblogs.

INSPIRATION

  •  I am inspired by blogs on a daily basis, whether it be a linky, brilliant post, piece of layout or design.  It all gets my mind buzzing with ideas.
  • This post from Manc Family Robinson echoed what I have been thinking about weight loss and diets for a while now.
  • On the theme of diets, may be I should just do this one from Mama’s VIB.

Why not pop over and have a read of some other Mums’ lists.

  1. I’ve never got to grips with WordPress, I love Blogger and have found ways around lack of official plugins to achieve all I want, BUT I love the sound of Evergreen…. will have to see what I can do with Blogger!!

Thank you very much. I think it depends on the child. I am sure they could go and get used to it just with you, but the instructor knows lots of techniques to teach them to swim, be safe and get them used to the water. So in that respect I think a class is best. Also we did lots of singing and moving around with the other class members which you wouldn’t do on your own, but that really helped x

  3. Wow, congratulations on the computer thing! I meant to enter that and totally forgot, damn!! I love the related posts plug in, no idea if it actually drives traffic through my site but it does look pretty 🙂

  4. Good luck with completing your rather long list! Have you tried IKEA for toy storage? We have a lot of the ones where you can put the plastic boxes in and love them!

I think you can get companies that swap it over for you so you don’t have to worry. I moved from WP to self hosted WP, but not sure about blogger to WP x

Oh no I use Twuffer for my more recent posts but it would take forever with my archive, Evergreen is so much better x

  11. Have you seen the Ikea storage chests? I think they look really good and you can choose the colour of drawers to suit the room. You can often pick them up second hand on gumtree or ebay.

Thank you. We bought bargain one from a car boot, but think we may look in IKEA for another to go with it x

  12. An ACTUAL computer?!?! That is brill, you’re doing so well and you really deserve it 🙂 big love!

I’ve had that calendar plug in for a while but I never have any posts to put in it!! Why am I so hand to mouth with my blogging?! Hahaha! Maybe I just need to accept it for a while and I’ll get better with time?!

For the living room we have a long thin unit from Ikea – it lifts up and I put jigsaws and games in the chest, and there are 2 drawers that are mainly for dumping stuff and DVDs but you could definitely use those for toys too. I’ll see if I can dig out a link! xxx

Thanks hun. Yes an ACTUAL computer! Amazing isn’t it!! I arrived yesterday 🙂 I love the calendar plug in and it has got me so organised I am all scheduled up a week in advance now (usually I am writing the night before). Feel much better now I have breathing space to do all my commenting! ha ha! There is always something xxx
