Our Girl’s Days

Since the beginning of the year Mr Hubby has been taking increasingly frequent trips to France with work.  In about a year we move out there lock, stock and (hopefully not smoking) barrel and so as the move gets closer he is needed out there more.  Also when he is home, he is often working weekends. We love being together as a family; both Baby and I hate it when he is not here.  One silver lining, however, is the increase in girl time.

When Baby was younger and didn’t attend preschool, it was often just us. We would wake up and do whatever we pleased; the whole day stretched out in front of us.  Now she goes to preschool four times a week, leaving only Friday free when she has Ballet. So the occasions of us girls just hanging out, without somewhere to rush off to are few and far between.

Sometimes we visit the ponies or go to the park. We might do some shopping or find a coffee shop for a cheeky hot chocolate. Whatever we do, with only each other to focus on, it is quality time, with just us.

There is no doubt we would both prefer Mr Hubby to be with us, but when he is working at the weekend, it’s like someone has turned back the time a little and those long days stretch out in front of us once again. I won’t paint too much of an idyllic picture, a child who thinks 6am is a lie in, can make for a bit of a weary day by the time Mr Hubby gets home, but having no agenda and being able to drift through the day if we choose is so lovely.

  1. Ah this is lovely Aby, girly time sounds so great, I bet you love spending quality time with each other. I must admit one of my favourite things to do is spend time with the girls on one one, although at the moment it doesn’t happen too often. These photos of Baby are just gorgeous too- she’s turning into such a beautiful, grown up girl. xx

  2. This is beautiful. I love it when I get the chance to have time with just Alice, which is the difficult to do. But it happens we both love it and really make the most of it. When Alice is at preschool holly and I love a trip to the coffee shop for a hot chocolate xx

  3. Your pictures are amazing. I do miss the days before Meme started school when it was just lazy days at the park just the three of us!
