We love music. Both hubby and I were avid festival goers before Ava came along and we’ve been to Camp Bestival every year since Ava was two.
Music is so powerful and whatever music Ava chooses to like when she’s older, I really enjoy sharing our favourite tunes with her as she grows up. I love that it’s something we experienced when we were younger and we get to be with her when she is hearing those tracks for the first time.
Our love of music and penchant for cool tech gadgets (remember the Robot vacuum?!) meant I was thrilled to be given the chance to take a Roxi Electric Jukebox for a spin.
What is the Roxi Electric Jukebox?
ROXI is all your music dreams come true and wrapped up in a small, but perfectly formed package. Roxi gives you access to five music entertainment products in one easy-to-use box: music streaming, world radio, karaoke, musical games (Name that tune!) and a therapeutic sound machine, perfect for meditation, relaxation and sleep. Roxi’s song catalogue contains several million tracks, so there are lots to choose from. It’s easily divided by genre too making it super fast to find your favourite songs.

How to set it up
I hate setting things up and reading instructions, so I was very pleased when I opened the box and all I had to do was to plug it into our TV and power. It took about 5 minutes or less and that was with Ava trying to ‘help’…… Then Roxi works through your TV, utilising it’s speakers.

The features
- Main hub.
- Remote which doubles as a motion sensitive controller with built-in microphone for voice control feature and karaoke.
- 1-Year Premium Music Pass giving you ad-free listening. The pass is already registered to the box, so it’s ready to go.
- Slideshow photo frame.
- Unlimited streaming – Music from a choice of millions of songs. Updated weekly.
- Play Games such as ‘Name That Tune’.
- Relax or create background music with the ‘Sound Machine’.
- Family Protect, a feature which switches off all explicit music on ROXI.
- Sing with the Stars karaoke style.
- Unlimited access to virtually any radio station around the world.
- Music games such as ’Name That Tune’ tests your knowledge across many different genres.
- Sound Machine plays a range of relaxing melodies perfect for yoga/meditation and therapeutic sounds such as rain and white noise.

Is it easy to use?
As already mentioned it was so quick and easy to set up. Using it and finding our way round was very straight forward too. Which was a relief as Ava always wants to take charge.
I’m not a Karaoke fan, but I know Ava will love it as she grows up.

Did we love it?
I love that the Roxi is was something we can all enjoy together and that it was a way for us to share our musical tastes with Ava in a fun way. We appreciated Roxi’s features and thought the voice activated searches were great. The Roxi box is quite small and so doesn’t take up much room, also it’s sleek so it’s not an eye sore you’ll spend time trying to hide.
Ava loves singing and I think the Roxi will help her gain even more confidence, especially when she starts to read and fully embraces Karaoke. Lily the dog seemed pretty keen to join in too!
Is it value for money?
The Roxi is £199 which might seem pricey, but remember you get access to millions of songs, 1000’s of singalong songs, and music games for a year. I currently pay £9.99 for iTunes and that’s just for music and podcasts, so I think it’s reasonable in comparison.
I think if you’re going to cancel your other music subscriptions then the price wouldn’t be that much of an issue. I would just want to be sure that I would do that and not end up paying for both. However, it would alternatively make a great family gift if you wanted to keep your subscriptions on.
Ava loved it and was so happy to see her favourite songs, especially The Trolls soundtrack. If you’re looking for a way to stream music, access radio AND a way to get the whole family involved with fun games, then the Roxi is for you.

ROXI is available in Red, Blue and Charcoal for £199 from www.myroxi.com.

Disclosure: We were given a Roxi music system in exchange for an honest review.

I think it will have to be Bon Jovi’s Livin’ on a Prayer x
My favourite song is “Life Is A Highway” by Tom Cochrane
Music is life, what a great gadget especially for anyone who has smaller homes. Plus side food and toys won’t get posted in them!
This looks like such a fun way to engage together. Music is a big part of my family. Fabulous photos too – thanks for the giveaway!
I wanna dance with somebody by Whitney Houston
Oh how cool! My kids would totally love this. They adore this- they love nothing more than prancing around all 4 of them singing and pretending to be superstars!!!
So hard to choose just one favourite song. It really depends on what mood I’m in! But for singing on karaoke I’d maybe go with Black Velvet or Mustang Sally (and I’d need a little alcoholic persuasion!)
My favourite is Gloria Gaynor I Will Survive.
This looks awesome! I bet my lot would love one. I have entered, so fingers crossed xx
Despacito by Luis Fonsi
Sexual Healing by Marvin Gaye.
