Yesterday Baby turned 20 months old! We are crashing ever closer to her second birthday, which seems quite strange.
So this month, I think if I had to pick one word to sum it up Baby’s 19th month, it would be challenging! If I was allowed another word, it would be attitude! So you might see where this is heading. I think it is safe to say we have hit the terrible two’s a little early.
I have started to wonder over the past few weeks whether Baby is part mountain goat, as she will not stop climbing! My back is turned for a second and she climbs her way to peril! Will she be told? Absolutely not! Wow, she is one determined little lady.
A few new words have been learned this month including ‘dirty’ (as she is always trying to get things out of the bin!) and ‘apple’. I think her favourite word is still ‘hello’ though, as she says it ALL the time. She still likes to run everywhere, rarely walking.
One of her happiest places is in the park and she is now confident going down the slide on her own. Last weekend she insisted on sitting on the big girl swing! Another love is climbing up any little hill, clapping herself and coming back down again. She is not 100% of roundabouts, everything is fine until they move and then she bids a hasty exit.
Her attitude and temper is matched by her brightness and loving nature. She tries to cuddle everyone and LOVES animals, she has zero fear in that department. She really enjoys going to visit the swans and ducks and loves meeting dogs when we are out walking. Her favourite things include bubbles, balloons, peas and jelly!
She never really stops, is always doing something, plotting or ‘untidying’ somewhere. She is quite exhausting, even people with similar aged children remark how full on she is!
Her smile is the best sight I have ever seen and it truly lights up our life.
She is so bright that it scares me sometimes and I hope we can ensure she can become anything she wants to be as she grows up.
Our beautiful Baby xxx

Wow, isn’t it great to see her grow up so fast! Until she hits adolescence and you wonder where little cuddly Baby has gone, haha. I’m glad you see the positive despite her challenging attitude.
Aw so beautiful Aby, they are growing up so fast aren’t they? I can’t believe it! LL will be two in february- eeek! She also has a little temper on her but is so much more laid back than Mads was- I think it is the second baby syndrome! 😉 x

Thanks hun! I looked at her today and was shocked by who fast time has gone. x
Aww I love this. It can be a challenging time at this stage as they develop their own interests and want to make their own choices. Not always the safest choices might I add. Working with Early years for 14 years I have seen it all. Always remember on the tough days that phases are usually just that… a phase. Remind yourself it will pass, and enjoy every minute because it just flies.

Yes I keep trying to remind myself that it will be a phase x
she is growing up so fast. Look at her holding onto that big girl swing there. she looks wonderfully happy. I look forward to seeing this one on Country Kids on Saturday.

She was so insistent (Hubby was right behind her) but she had it nailed! x
Aww its a lovely age. My second was a climber too. It seems to create a combination of laughter and worry as they get in some really scary places and also some kinda funny ones! #magicmoments

Yes I am always tempted to reach for the phone, but then chicken out and grab her! x
Such a beautiful girl – sounds like she has a lot of zest for life Aby and such a lovely post to read, your love for your gorgeous girl shines through it. I am sure the climbing must be very challenging at times as is her starting to assert herself, but sounds like you have a lot of adorable moments to make up for it and she always seems such a happy little girl in your posts x #whatsthestory

Ah thank you so much for your lovely comment. She has such a light about her. x
Oh, it does go far too fast! We’re rapidly heading towards the wee girls third birthday, eek! Baby sounds a lot like the wee girl actually, same feisty personality. It will stand them in good stead, but it is exhausting just at the moment… #WhatstheStory

That’s what keeps me sane. I said to hubby last night she will either be a mass murderer or a brain surgeon! 😉 x
Awww, such a lovely post, I know what you mean about time going too fast, I can’t believe Boo is going to be one and a couple of weeks!
I do love your photos at the park, Baby always looks so happy in them =) It’s such a great thing to have a nice local park, I am so glad we have one near us.

Thank you, it is definitely her happy place x
We are at 36 months and challenging and attitude are good words to use xx #magic moments
I think the attitude is pretty common at that age from the little people we know… Arthur has most definitely had his moments over the past few months! It is bizarre to think he’ll nearly be two as well 🙂 x

Hopefully it will settle down soon! x
Super lovely post and I am in love with the wee womans pink bow’d welly booties!! x

Thanks hun, they were really cheap but so cute x
My Twinkles are 20 months old too — I just cannot believe how fast they’ve grown. Amazing isn’t it? One of them has also joined the ‘Terrible Two’ brigade a little early… MUCHO screaming and temper tantrums; it’s exhausting!! I’m just grateful they aren’t BOTH doing it at the same time!! I’d need a pair of ear defenders!! 🙂 #brillblogposts

Ear defenders is such a good idea! It is the shrieking that gets me x
She looks like such a happy little thing. Elsa loves the park too but she isn’t brave enough to go on anything by herself just yet, apart from the swings.

Ah bless her, I’m sure she will soon! x
My son was 17months exactly when the tantrums hit! Oh what a joy it was….. Definitely gets easier once language improves (mostly!). Hang on in there & try to enjoy the great bits in and among the wailing!
Author
Yes I will! 🙂 She is a joy the rest of the time, but wow can she strop! She is one determined little girl x
Such a cutie, love how apparent their little personalities are-we are dealing with terrible two’s here! Thanks for linking up to #brilliantblogposts
