The Doctor, Princess, Sheriff and Monkey

Over the last few months Baby has developed much more of an interest in certain things.  One of these things is the television.  She never used to bother with it, would never pay much attention.  However, that has all changed.  She adores it!  Every morning we come down stairs and very quickly she is pointing to the TV and making noises, which must mean “mummy turn the TV on”.  She is very insistent!  n.b. I feel that I should say at this point, that we go out and about a lot, value outdoors adventures and do lots of reading with her too!

Anyway back to the TV, we are Team Disney Junior, her favourites being Doc McStuffins, Sofia the First, Sheriff Callie and Curious George.  They are repeated so often, sometimes twice a day, so I can almost recite the scripts by heart.  This doesn’t matter to Baby, as she watches as intently on the 50th watch, as she did on the 1st.  If she is watching Doc she likes to grab her character toys and hold them for the entire programme.

When she is watching Sheriff Callie, at the same point each time she lets out a massive shriek! (as she can’t say ye-ha yet!).  You know, I actually love these shows too.  Yes, they are a little cheesy (obviously), but they have great messages for children.

Baby watching TV, a very ordinary thing to do, but filled with so much joy and delight for her.  I love watching her taking everything in, dancing along to the songs and talking to the characters.  Our very ordinary moments.

  1. TV features in our world too. We are team milkshake as we love Thomas The Tank Engine. There are some disagreements about when the TV should go on in our house tho. Daddy tends to put it on before breakfast #magimoments

  2. Disney XD and Nickelodeon here! I get bored with the repeats to be honest but my kids clearly don’t lol. Your lil one is soooo sweet!! xx

  3. Aww, this is so cute, and those photos are adorable!
At the minute Boo will only watch the tv if it is on for the theme music of certain cartoons such as Raa Raa, Bing and The Octonauts etc but she claps when she hears them which is so cute.

  4. Sherrif Callie’s Wild West is one of our favourite shows. We’ve watched I think every episode since it began. He used to be stuck on the Disney channel too but seems to be going through a Nick Jnr 2 phase, and has got addicted to Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom.

I know what you mean about enjoying the shows, as I have loved all of the ones he’s watched over the years. Neither of us have ever been big into CBeebies for some reason. He also holds the character up – or rather used to when he was a little younger x

  5. Oh my gosh that baby arm chair is AMAZING!!
Arthur is like this with TV too at the moment, he shoves the remote in my face and gets a right grump on if I tell him no haha! (Like you we are outside lots still too haha!) xxx

  6. We have never heard of Sherif Calie here but my children are transfixed by Pokemon and My little Pony. I could happily strangle those ponies! x

  7. Aww, love the little chair! We have Disney Junior on a lot here too – it’s a toss up between that and Go Diego Go on Netflix usually…

  8. I love her little mini chair! We don’t have Disney Junior so have never seen any of those shows, but my children have their own favourites from other channels.

  9. We’ve not really watched Disney Junior but my children often let out little noises at their excitement from watching TV shows. I don’t think watching TV is as awful as it is made out to be. After all, many children’s programmes still teach them things about life. Love your photo of her.

  10. Such a cute post and how cute are those photos too!! Haha. Annabelle loves those three shows too, however she never enjoys George as much as Callie & Doc, haha! Or Sofia, Peppa…Woody…Buzz….my goodness the list goes on doesn’t it? x

  11. It’s lovely to watch their imaginations develop isn’t it? LL gets so excited at the TV at the moment and will do the most gorgeous little dance, it’s so cute to watch. I love keeping up with Baby and your adventures. Sorry I am only just catching up with your post, it’s been a hectic week! x
