This might seem a little odd, but ever since I found out I was having a little girl, one of the day dreams I had was that my daughter would love having her face painted and she would often be sporting a butterfly or some pretty flowers on her pretty little face. She would nag me during days out to allow her to get it done and I would always oblige.
However, the opportunities came and went with her rejection of all things face paint. We have stood in queues, for victory to be snatched at the last minute when she decided that she didn’t want to do it anymore. The furthest we got was a small flower on her hand last summer. Until last weekend that is.
Baby was invited to one of her best friend’s 3rd birthday party, which had a Frozen theme. When we arrived just as the birthday girl was in the face painting chair, getting the finishing touches put to the masterpiece adorning her face. Baby took one look and decided she wanted her own masterpiece. So she queued; she queued for the time it took her friend to be finished and three more kids to be done, before it was her turn. She patiently stood and waited, her eyes focused on the prize.

It didn’t take long for the lovely face painting lady to work her magic and Baby was so happy. I was quite pleased too!

The party was fabulous, after the nightmare of my friend being let down by her ‘Elsa’ performer as the party was in full swing. Luckily her friend stepped into the role of children’s entertainer, putting on a Princess dress and transforming into Elsa, much to the children’s delight.

She was so taken with her painted face, I am now set to learn from YouTube videos and the face paints are winging their way to us as I type.

Baby had a truly magical time with her little friends. They were all in total awe of Elsa, I mean can you imagine meeting a real life Princess when you’re three?! So wonderful!

Thanks huni, she just adored it and I ordered paints yesterday, which arrived today. Bless her she was recovering from being sick every hour through the nigh, begging me to paint her face! x
Aw this is such a lovely post Aby and I don’t think it is odd- i used to think the same about my girls as well, it is such a childhood rite of passage. Neither of them have actually had them painted that much, although we got them done at the school christmas fete last term. Baby looks gorgeous with her face painted and these are lovely photos. x
Aww she looks adorable!! I love face paint too as does G but LJ is terrified of it at the moment haha! x
