Baby meets some furry friends

Last weekend we visited our local children’s animal farm (Finkley Down Farm).  Baby loves animals, so we knew she would enjoy herself.  Although we have never been before, we have heard good reports from friends.  So we were looking forward to seeing what it had to offer.

We started by wandering round all the animal pens.  Baby was very confident with the goats and was happy to pat them.  She also seemed quite taken with the chickens.

There was so much to see; ducks, geese, donkeys, llamas, horses, ponies, goats, various chickens, buggies, mice, rats, pigs, turkeys, guinea pigs, rabbits, chinchillas, plus lots of others.  Most of the animals were available to stroke in the ‘Pat a pet’ sessions, you could also groom the ponies and go for pony rides (more on that next week).

We moved onto the play areas;  there was a go cart track and a completely enclosed field with lots of ride on toys in it, wonderful for safe playing.  After lunch in the cafe, which was next to the HUGE indoor soft play area, we wandered to the front of the farm to find an even bigger play area.  We noticed a field where the animal racing (sheep etc) takes place, my money is on Lamborghini?  There were lots of separate areas, fenced sandpit, sided trampoline area (housing 5 tampolines!) and another area which had two smaller ‘baby’ trampolines and lots of playhouses, slides and roundabouts.  There were also death sides, tyre swings plus normal swings.

I LOVED it there and Baby had a whale of a time, running about, enjoying the sun and meeting lots of new furry friends.  I know we will be returning to this great place, as there is just so much to do.

  1. Looks a great place and glad you both had a great time. I don’t think I have been anywhere that has llamas but do hear a lot about them.
