When Baby was first born the thought of taking her anywhere by myself was, quite frankly, terrifying! Obviously with a little time and experience the thought becomes less scary, but I can still remember when I was invited to a London blogging event a year or so ago and I decided to accept and take Baby along. I was still pretty worried about the whole thing. For someone who was not very confident (thanks PND) or particularly au fait with tubes, it sounded like it was going to be an ordeal. However, I felt the fear and did it anyway and I am so glad I did.
We are now travel buddies and regularly make the journey into London together for events and meetings. From where we live in the sticks, it is a car journey, an hour to an hour and a half on the train, then usually a tube or two before we reach our destination; most of the time she is as good as gold and we arrive without incident.
Train journeys are quite exciting and when you are two and a half they are one of THE best things, especially if you are allowed out of your pushchair and get to sit on a seat.
Last week we had back to back events on London, meaning we were there Wednesday and Thursday. On Wednesday we had been invited to the Lindex Autumn Winter preview, which was really great fun. Who doesn’t like looking at gorgeous clothes?!
We had met our lovely friends Katy, Little G and LJ at the tube and the girls had such fun at the event.
Especially playing with the gorgeous balloons filled with confetti.
Lindex have such amazing clothes, I was literally in paradise. Their baby range *almost* made me broody, and the young girls/boys collection was really gorgeous.
Baby and Little G took it in turns to try on this gorgeous jacket.
Hand on heart there was not one piece that I wouldn’t dress Baby in, so lovely. We are working with Lindex in the next few weeks, so I look forward to showing you some more of the collection.

As a blogger, I sometimes feel sorry for our kids. They have cameras shoved in their faces almost all of the time, they can never simply play with a toy, but must always have their picture taken with it first. Yet watching Baby soak up the sights and sounds of London; experience all the events have to offer and play with all the lovely children she meets; I realise her life isn’t too bad at all.
We had some time to kill before our train so Katy, I and all the girls decided to do a little tourist trail. A jaunt down Carnaby Street and a brief trip round Liberty.
London with Baby is pretty full on. Those who have met my daughter, will know she has what seems like boundless energy and doesn’t really stop… EVER. Until we get on the train home that is. We run to our train and try to find a spot where I can sit beside the buggy, then as she drinks some milk she drifts off to sleep. I realise that sleeping so late in the afternoon, means our evening will be full of Baby craziness, but watching her lie peacefully, maybe dreaming about her adventures, I let her sleep.

My girls love the train too, it’s such an adventure for them. I really should make more of an effort to come to events, I just never go and I know that my girls would have fun and it would be lovely to see you if you were at some. I just usually can’t be bothered and it’s only an hour on the train for me! x

I keep on declining event invitations as the thought of getting the train with the boys fills me with dread – but if you can manage it with a journey that is 3 times as long as mine then maybe I would be ok! X

Oh you should definitely accept. I drive, then train for an hour, then tube. It really is much easier than you think and everyone is super helpful, if you have a buggy x
