Anyone with toddlers will know that they can be complex little characters. Their thoughts and opinions can change rapidly and often without much consideration for common sense.
A few months ago Baby developed an irrational fear of walking in certain places, one of which being our local nature walk. Until this point we often enjoyed country walks together, but all of a sudden she started to get hysterical in these situations and would want to be carried back to the car. On one previous visit there were loose cows and I have a feeling this may have contributed to her being so unsure. I tried a few times to take her back there and Mr Hubby also tried once, when I was away at a conference for the day. Neither of us had any luck in making her feel better. I even tried a more open venue, but she still reacted the same.
Over the weekend Mr Hubby and I were both at home with no particular plans, so we decided to try to resolve the issue. Baby was a little apprehensive when we arrived at the local walk, but very quickly got into her stride and really enjoyed herself. I am not really sure what made the difference, maybe just having the support of Mummy and Daddy.
She was so amazed with her Daddy started blowing dandelions. She adored it and kept saying ‘Dadda more!’ and obviously he dutifully obeyed.
I loved the amazement on her little face and the dandelion fragments were blown into the wind.
I adore this sight, my two favourite people in the world strolling together in the sun.
Although we have dogs, Baby is a little concerned about strange dogs. When this dog approached us she was worried, but the lady stopped and told us that ‘Dusty’ was child friendly. Baby then had an amazing time throwing the stick for her, usually straight into the pond. I don’t think Dusty minded too much.
Children are the oddest of creatures, on this day Baby decided that in addition to Upsy Daisy she wanted to take an Apple out with her…. Of course she wouldn’t actually eat an Apple, she just wanted to carry it……bonkers……
I was so pleased with how she did and apart from having to be carried all the way back to the car as she was tired from all her exploring, it was a really successful outing.

Ah such gorgeous photos. I’m so glad Baby managed to conker her fear with the help of mummy and Daddy! I agree that toddlers are funny creatures, Oliver insisted in taking his old slippers to Bluestone even though he hates wearing them!

These are gorgeous photos. Glad to read it seems Baby has overcome her fear and had a really nice time.
You can see it was definitely worth getting Baby back to the nature walk – she looks so happy. And, of course, one has to take an apple along on a walk!
Such a cute post Aby and well done to Baby for conquering her fear, it looks like a gorgeous family walk. I love the fact she took an apple out with her- Mads and LL are exactly the same, they take the most random things out the house with them! x

Awww toddlers hey can be strange creatures. L is similar, we haven’t had a fear thing of going to places but we have a dog and one minute he’s fine and the next day he will act so scared of him, the dog hasn’t done anything different but L will just decide that day he’s scared of the dog. I’m hoping it’s a phase though. I love the pics and she really does look amazed by those dandelions #BrilliantBlogPosts

Some gorgeous pictures of your little one! I often wonder what goes on in the mind of my little girl. Sometimes you can see the clogs whirling and then she’ll come out with something really funny or unexpected. Sounds like you had a lovely afternoon x
Some great photos, it can be so tough when little ones suddenly start being upset by something, you always wonder what happened, then they suddenly become fine with it and you just end up lost.
Glad that your LO has overcome her fears. Looks like a gorgeous family walk X
So glad Baby overcame her fear of the nature walk. I understand all about irrational fears as I still have them as an adult. Must be tougher though when you can’t communicate as well, like when you’re a toddler. Oh and daddy blowing dandelions sure sounds cute! #BrilliantBlogPosts
Such gorgeous pictures, It looks like Baby had a lot of fun exploring.
I am so glad that she is feeling much better about walking and exploring there. As you say maybe it was having both mummy and daddy there.
Toddlers can be very strange little people and I think they like to change their minds sometimes just to keep us on our toes!
Some beautiful photos there! Glad she overcame her fear x #brilliantblogposts
