Last week we met our friends for a picnic in the park; the first picnic of 2015! It felt like a momentous occasion. We have survived winter, the layers of clothes, dealing with muddy, soaking wet, freezing toddlers when they refuse to wear hats/gloves and then proceed to fall in puddles.
The week before we had met the same friends in the park and left early, as it was quite cold. However, not last week, it was glorious! We got there early and while we were waiting for our friends, Baby decided she would start her picnic.
The obligatory inspection of the packed lunch.
She was so excited about seeing her little friend D. All morning she had been repeating her name and could barely contain herself, as we sat waiting in the park. Then they arrived!
I have never witnessed two young children love each other like these two. It is completely beautiful.
It wasn’t long before it was time to play. They had a fabulous time on the seesaw!
My heart just melts when I see them running around together holding hands. They seem so tuned into each other, it is incredible.
Aren’t they just the cutest sight?!
These two are both a bit bonkers and I love seeing them play off each other. Baby stopped holding on to the swing and leant forward kicking her legs. Within seconds D followed suit.
Their hysterical little giggles ringing out, as the swings wobbled around under their crazy little bodies.
They kept running back to out picnic blanket to have the odd snack or some hydration. Baby decided that D might need some raisins after all their hard work playing.
Then they were off again!
D was playing in a rocking ladybird and Baby took off back to our blanket, only to return flat-out, a few seconds later with D’s ‘Holiday Peppa’ for her little friend.
They are just the cutest couple ever.
They are both two and have known each other since they were 3 months old. It is strange to say at their age, but they do have a special connection and I hope they stay friends for a long time. We love you D.

Ahh this is so lovely to see. Elsa has a little friend too but we don’t get to see her as often. We all went to the park the other day and they were playing together which they haven’t really ever done before, they tend to ignore each other usually!
