Simple times in the Garden

Every day Baby and I spend some time on our garden.  Ever since we gave the garden a makeover, it has become a lovely place to spend time.  I sometimes find myself uninspired, without exciting plans with which to entertain Baby.  I never need worry, as a simple visit to her Fairy Garden makes her (and I) very happy.  Even more so, if it involves bubbles.  Last week Baby learned to say ‘bubble’ and made her first bubble.  She was amazed!  I was quite impressed that she could put the wand back in the bottle, all by herself!

Bubbles are truly magical and I love seeing her face light up.

We also spend a lot of time in the play house drinking tea, out of plant pots….  and playing ‘where’s the baby gone’ behind the door.

I love how so much pleasure can be gained for both of us, from such a simple acts.  Our simple days in our Fairy Garden.

  1. What a lovely post. It’s good to remember the simple things because I know some parents that only feel you can have fun and do things with your children if you have money, it’s so sad x

  2. We have really loved the dry weather so far this year and was sad to wake up to rain this morning. Outdoor play is so important for little ones

  3. I’m loving reading all the #MagicMoments and #OrdinaryMoments this week – the simplest things will really spark off memories for us all in the future I think. Little Man loves bubbles too. There is a bubble session in the Gymboree class that we do every week and he’ll usually stop what he’s doing to join in the magic of chasing and popping them. Gorgeous photos x

  4. I am yet to meet a child that isn’t totally transfixed by bubbles, it’s so sweet isn’t it? And how clever of Baby to be able to say bubble. LL still is hardly saying a word, little monkey, but she understands everything! x

  5. Im looking outside now and wishing that Id spent more time playing outside whilst we could. The weather has really changed. I love that bubble photo by the way – a great capture!

  6. Gorgeous pics from your garden! Your little girl looks so happy and content… Love it when the easiest things give such pleasure 🙂
…And CONGRATULATIONS again on the #LoveAllDads awards – I’m moving a step beyond twitter congrats! 😉

  7. Looks like wonderful fun. Next week’s Country Kids is all about our Fairy Garden too, they are great fun for little ones with whatever magic you choose to add.

  8. Hello there, it never ceases to amaze me how much fun our little man has in the garden, doing something and nothing makes him very happy-he’s out there in all weathers! And it’s true that you can never have enough bubbles. Love your photos by the way x #magicmoments

  9. So so cute! F always asks if we can move somewhere with a garden, I think he would love to play in a little house and have bubbles. It really is the small things that bring out the joy in us. x

  10. Ella used to love bubbles but for years she’d always end up tipping up the bottle of bubble solution because she concentrated so much on blowing the bubbles!
I love baby in her yellow cardi, it really suits her 🙂

  12. Mine all love bubbles but my 4yo isn’t the best at holding the bottle. Every time he tips it all down his front after two minutes then gets upset that he hasn’t got any bubbles left! Really cute pics of Baby x

  13. I can’t wait until next Summer when we can do up our garden of the new house we’ve moved into and we can spend lots of time in the garden as a family. Grace will be toddling about by then so it’ll be nice to have summer BBQ’s, get her paddling pool and just relax and play together x x
