A few weeks ago I was invited by Tefal to an event in London to try out their Cook4Me, an intelligent multi-cooker. I make no bones about the fact that I dislike cooking; I actually find it quite stressful. Baking, I really enjoy; it’s methodical and rarely results in lots of pans bubbling over at the same time. So I had high hopes when I accepted the invitation that the Cook4Me would somehow miraculously turn me into Nigella! Well, a girl can dream!

My good friend Katy was invited to the event as well and we met up on the walk from the tube to the venue. The venue was a location house, which was so beautiful; I think we all wanted to move in immediately!
We were introduced to the Cook4Me, an electronic multi-cooker, which comes pre-programmed with over 50 recipes. The cook4Me stores the recipe and prompts you step by step into creating yummy food, for two to six people.
The Cook4Me features;
- A steamer basket – perfect for cooking the rice and vegetables.
- Self release safety valve
- Progression indicator (to get the kids excited!)
- Auto keep warm function
- Reheat function
- Delayed start of up to 15 hours (not recommended for meat)
- A removable non-stick bowl with cool touch handles

Browning meat and softening onions can all be done quickly and easily in the Cook4Me pan, then the other ingredients are added and the top sealed. This is when the magic happens. Sausage casserole in 8 minutes, Risotto with no stirring and in 10 minutes! Yes please!

We were divided into two teams and while the other team started making the starters for lunch, our team went to a different room and were treated to some pampering. Then we swapped, while we created the main and they experienced some therapies.

The Cook4Me was really straight forward to use and I am happy to say, even I managed it!

It was a really fun day, being filmed and photographed, while putting the Tefal Cook4Me through its paces.

After the event we were all sent our very own Cook4Me’s to try out at home when cooking for our families. Usually Mr Hubby does all of the cooking in our house and, if I’m honest, I expected that to continue, even with our new gadget. I decided to give it a whirl one afternoon with Baby and it was so much fun! She loved helping and popping things in, pressing the button when it was time and counting down the timer.

The first recipe we tried was the Bacon and Leek Risotto. Baby was so involved and after the 10 minutes cooking time, she polished off a big bowl for her lunch. I was quite surprised as our daughter is not the world’s more reliable eater, but she happily tucked in.

We went on to make Potato and Leek Soup, Chicken Pesto Risotto, Chilli Con Carne and Sausage and Bean Casserole; The amazing part? She ate all of it! I was gobsmacked that she tried everything and all but the Chilli (which was a little too spicy) she ate a good amount of each meal.
We had such fun cooking with the Cook4Me and it has become a daily occurrence for us now, which we both really enjoy. I particularly like how everything is in one pot: consequently the mess and washing up is so minimal. Nor do I have to worry about multiple pots on the hob at the same time.
When I agreed to test the Tefal Cook4Me I didn’t think that it would actually change part of our lives. Our daily cooking sessions are definitely here to stay.
Here is a video of my day at the event.
Disclosure: We were sent a Tefal Cook4Me in return for sharing my thoughts.
