Our Yeo Valley Little Yeos Yummy Bark

I have always loved baking, in fact I applied for the Great British Bake Off a few years back. Sadly, Mary Berry was so immune to my baking talents that I didn’t even get interviewed for the show. So, I was very glad when Ava developed a love of cooking and baking too.

I’m on the Cambridge Diet and Mr Hubby is not a cake eater (I know right?!), so we tend to end up chucking away a lot of the baking we do. After all, there is a limit to how much cake one small person can eat. Consequently, I was on the look out for a healthier treat that I could make with Ava, that would also cut down on the amount of waste we have.

Then I remembered a chocolate bark recipe that I have made before and thought it would be a good one to adapt; giving it a (slightly) healthier twist.

Ava loves all things yoghurt and has been eating Yeo Valley Little Yeos since she was weaned. She was so excited to get started.

Little Yeos

Yoghurt Bark

It really is such a simple idea, anyone could do it. You can use any lined baking tray, we actually used an unlined small tart case with a removable bottom (this way I knew I would be able to get the finished treat out!).

Empty your Little Yeos into the tray and then let your creativity go wild. Baby chose blue chocolate buttons, mini marshmallows and of course some sprinkles!  See why it’s only slightly healthier than the aforementioned chocolate bark!

Then sprinkle on your chosen additions and give them a little mix through the yoghurt. Pop the tray into the freezer and leave for about an hour until set. It was so easy to do and satisfied her need to create something. So definitely a good recipe to have in your toolbox, for when you haven’t got much time and don’t want to make a full sized cake or a dozen cupcakes!

These are the perfect little treat to enjoy after she has been out riding Sali the pony and I can rest assured that, at least in part, they contain ‘good stuff’. Since Little Yeos are made from all natural ingredients, with no added nasties.

As well as yoghurts Veo Valley also have a range of no added refined sugar Fromage Frais’ made from organic milk, which come in either Natural or Fruited flavour.

Do you have any ‘go-to’ yoghurt recipes? What are your kid’s favourite treats?
