We all adore reading in our house and Baby is certainly no exception. She loves being read to and has amassed a huge selection of books already in her two and a half years. A friend of mine found a gorgeous old open fronted bookcase on ebay and I have wanted one ever since. My friend’s is so lovely, but I have been looking for a white one that would fit with Baby’s existing furniture and I never have much luck on Ebay!
We recently received a Tidy Books Bookcase, which is exactly what I have been looking for. It is perfect for little people to be able to help themselves to the books and so increases their independence. It can hold A LOT of books too (85!), which makes it very practical, as well as looking stylish. Having a low profile, it doesn’t encroach into the room much, making it ideal for smaller spaces too.
Obviously the main benefit of this bookcase is that the children can see all of their books, which is not often the case with a more traditional style bookcase. Baby really loved having all her books laid out before her, so she could chose what she wanted to read.
I actually love seeing the covers of all the books. The designs of children’s book covers can be so colourful that it turns a piece of furniture into artwork.
Baby loves to select her book and then take it to her reading nook, to read in comfort. Well who wouldn’t?!

It’s so lovely that your little one loves books, mine is the same, in fact, he just asked for ‘books’ before his nap awhile ago, so sweet. I love the look of that bookcase, it’s so functional letting the little ones get the books out themselves. I love that it shows off the front covers too.

I love front facing book shelves. Some of our books are so beautifully illustrated, it seems a shame not to display them. This is the perfect way to do that. Plus, makes it so much easier for little ones to chose their stories at bedtime 🙂
aww this is lovely and something I would be definitely interested in getting for little J. he has just started to enjoy books so we have been buying a few here and there. Just need somewhere nice to store them x thanks for the review x

ah so neat and tidy, I must sort out my little monkeys books and get better storage, i would love them to read a little bit more, seem to be a lot more into the art than the books
Oh I love these book cases – I have seen them in a few places now and love them, especially the one with the alphabet. We need one for our daughter’s new room in our new house, it would be perfect for her 🙂
Oh I love these I’ve seen ikea shelves I think similar to these but we’re curently renting so I didn’t want something that would be stuck to the wall, I love that kids can see they’re books makes it much more appealing
