Mini Buddy Speaker Review and Giveaway

We were recently sent a Mini Buddy speaker from KitSound.  Mr Hubby set it up for Baby and so he has kindly written the review, I will let him to tell you all about it.

mini buddy familyBaby has always seemed interested in music, but it’s only recently that she has started singing and dancing along to the silly songs we make up, when we are trying to take her mind off an impending tantrum (hers, not ours)!

So, we were delighted when we were offered the chance to review the KitSound Mini Buddy Bluetooth speaker.  When ‘Bee’ turned up, Baby was immediately attracted to the very cute look; so much so that I had problems removing it from the packaging without her ‘helping’ me!  No sooner than it was free and turned on, Baby had claimed ownership, popped her hand through the lanyard and was wearing it on her wrist.

I have had trouble pairing things via Bluetooth before but no such issues this time; as soon as I enabled Bluetooth on my phone ‘BT MINI BUDDY’ appeared and connection was instant. We tested the speaker using a number of different music styles and were impressed with the sound that came from such a small speaker (around 50mm diameter).

Baby was particularly impressed when the Wurzels’ ‘Champion Dung spreader’ came on and was dancing along, waving her arms. At least, that’s what I’m telling myself; the reality is it was probably a desperate attempt to get the Mini Buddy off her wrist and disassociate herself from Daddy’s excellent taste in music!

Everything is controlled from your music device; from track selection to volume control and, although this version is wireless, there is a capability via the supplied 3.5mm Buddy jack, to connect to devices that don’t have a Bluetooth option. The jack can also be used to connect Mini Buddy’s together, providing you with the opportunity to increase the volume and collect more of the Mini Buddy family – the penguin would definitely be next on our list!

It comes with a built-in rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery which can be charged, using the USB charge cable, from a PC/laptop, USB mains charger or USB car charger. Charging time is up to 3 hours and this provides a 3-4 hour play time.

Our version has a RRP of £15 which I thought was very reasonable. Some of the family are available without wireless capability and they retail at around £9.99.

We’ve been toying with the idea of putting a music system in Baby’s room for a while now and this speaker has solved our problems; it provides a good sound quality, is portable and can be paired to whatever compatible music playing device you happen to be near.

Disclosure: We were sent this speaker in return for an honest review.

  1. So hard to choose! I love the bee, the pig, the owls, the alien, the penguin…but if I HAD to choose I think it would be the pink owl 🙂
