Yesterday I shared the first part of our Barcelona adventure with TravelSupermarket. Today, I am back with the second instalment sharing the fun activities that TravelSupermarket arranged for us.
Saturday
We woke up on Saturday morning and after a quick Google we headed to Federal, hailed as the best place in Barcelona for breakfast. We weren’t disappointed. Run by hipsters, we did wonder if we were cool enough to eat there, but it was great and really reasonably priced too.
Then we headed across town to Barcelona Zoo, passing that most fabulous human statues as we walked.
I think Barcelona is definitely much more of a fun place than, for example, London; well it’s not every city that has a giant lobster statue is it?!
Barcelona is breathtakingly beautiful. Everywhere you look there was another perfect photo opportunity.
Once we were in the Zoo, Baby began taking pictures of EVERYTHING on her new toy camera.
We were so excited to see a baby Zebra! Such a treat.
Of course as soon as Baby spotted the ponies she wanted to ride. It was around $3 for a couple of times round the paddock.
Baby also got to ride a Zebra (a statue)!

After spending a few hours in the Zoo we headed across the Parc De La Ciutadella to see the Cascada Monumental. Wow it was so stunning!
When we returned to the hotel and Baby and I retired to bed, Mr Hubby went up to the terrace for a drink and to admire the night time view.
Sunday
We decided to eat in the hotel first thing, which costed around $15 euro each for a buffet style breakfast. We then set off on another walk, this time to the Aquarium (which was a little closer to our hotel than the Zoo). We passed the stunning Port De Barcelona and the amazing shopping complex, which was over the dock from the World Trade Centre. We were so lucky with the weather, it was scorching!
It wasn’t long before we arrived at the aquarium and I was thrilled to see the Seahorses, I think they look amazing. Baby quite liked them too!
The underwater tunnel through the shark tank was really cool.
There was a massive shark above our heads, we don’t always look like this!

After leaving the Aquarium we stumbled across this lovely market, full of wonderful crafters and makers. I even managed to pick up some lovely earrings too!
Then sadly it was time to head back to the hotel to grab our bags, before making our way to the hotel to catch our flight. Although returning from holiday is always a little sad, we headed to the airport with our heads so full of memories from a holiday we will never forget.

Awe look at her asleep on the plane, what a sweetie. I can’t believe you saw a baby Zebra, Aspen loves Zebras she would go nuts if she saw a baby one. I have never seen a Flamingo in real life, the photo looks beautiful

Barcelona is on big J’s ‘to visit’ list. Not because its a beautifully city to explore because of the football stadium

Ah it looks like a wonderful trip Aby and you were so lucky with the weather! I went to Barcelona once about 7 years ago and I absolutely loved it, although I was so ill with a kidney infection when I was there. I need to go back there with the girls I think! x

I love the photos from your trip I was eagerly devouring every photo as a reminder that I could be here one day.
How much fun! My daughter has been asking to go to another aquarium and I am overdue a return to Barcelona (the last trip included my husband being struck with a horrible virus and lots of rain/cloud). Looks like it’s great with kids, and I know she would adore a baby zebra.
I love Barcelona – it’s one of the few places we’ve visited more than twice and could easily go again. And it’s so much fun to people watch on Las Ramblas if everything gets too much 🙂

Oh wow it looks so, so beautiful. I’m so glad the weather was on your side. It all looks like so much fun. You definitely made the most with the aquarium and the zoo. I had a year abroad in Spain as part of my uni degree. I lived near Madrid, but did manage to visit Barcelona once. Your great post brought back some fab memories. I love traveling the globe vicariously through my blogging friends. Barcelona looks right up my alley. The weather looks warm and gorgeous! I love being near the water. And it seems as if there is so much to do there, even if all you do is walk around, the market looks great and the food, incredible! I’m glad you had a great time and the whole family got to go with you!

Looks like you & Baby have a lovely time there. I haven’t been to Barcelona in ages! I’ve been there once with uni and I really love it. I did not know they have such so much going on for kids too – makes me want to revisit again with my E&E. Love he vdo and at the end was soo sweet when Baby is absolutely tried out. Awww… sweet.
