This time last week we were on our way to Treworgey Cottages in Cornwall for a little holiday.
We had a lovely dinner at Bill’s in Exeter and saw this incredible street art, which I wanted to share with you. It has been created by chipping the plaster off the wall! So amazing.

After staying overnight in Exeter on Sunday, we began the final leg of our journey; stopping in Liskeard before arriving at Jasmine Cottage in the early afternoon. We were a little early for our arrival time but, as luck would have it (or so Mr Hubby told me!), Treworgey is two minutes from the Cornish Orchards cider shop, so we made a detour.

I have never stayed in Cornwall before and, although I knew it would be pretty, nothing prepared me for how breathtaking the scenery was. I am going to share a proper review of our accommodation on Thursday, as I have too many photos to put into one post.

By the time we had unloaded the car and given Baby lunch we decided to just explore the on site facilities for the rest of the day. We weren’t disappointed, or stuck for things to do, it was amazing. We went to meet the animals, played in the awesome playground and then ventured to the on site shop, soft play and games room, before returning to our beautiful cottage for Baby bath time.
For our first full day in Cornwall, we decided to go to Looe, which is very close to Treworgey. Such a beautiful place; a typical Cornish seaside town with so much to look at. We wandered down a coastal path, taking time to absorb all of the beauty around us. We caught the train to Liskeard and back as Mr Hubby had read that the train line through the Looe valley was very picturesque. With hindsight, an hour on the train was too much for Baby and she wanted to get going.
We wandered around the town, taking in the sights and sounds before eating fish and chips on a bench beside the sea. Pretty much perfection right there. Realising that Baby wasn’t going to nap, we headed to the Wild Futures Monkey Sanctuary. Built on the side of a cliff, the views were extraordinary and to be honest I think I looked at them more than the Monkeys. They had a wonderful tree house cafe, so we had to stop for a drink.
On Wednesday we headed back to Looe, to the beach. It was a lovely bright day but, once on the beach, it was quite windy and Baby (plus some other children we saw) was quite uncomfortable with the wind in her eyes.
So, after stooping at Sarah’s pasty shop for some take away lunch, we abandoned the beach and set off to Porfell Wildlife Park. Baby started to show signs of being a little unwell; wanting to be carried everywhere and not being her usual bright and bubbly self. She did enjoy seeing the animals and we were especially pleased to see a baby wallaby in its mum’s pouch! They also had very friendly peacocks. We returned to the cottage and went in search of Treworgey’s indoor beach, which Baby thought was great fun.
We had to return home on Thursday, but before we set off we went to help with animal feeding. It was great for Baby to be able to interact with the animals and, although she was still a little unwell, she really enjoyed it.
Then we started our journey home, with a poorly Baby and a poorly husband by this point too! Despite this we had a really incredible time in Cornwall and I am sure we will be returning in the future.

What fab photos of your stay. I love Devon and Cornwall – they can be absolutely stunning if the weather is with you. It looks like you picked a great few days considering April can be unpredictable. I love the idea of having farm animals to feed on site and am intrigued by the indoor beach! What a shame you had a bout of illness at the end x

Yes it’s my very favourite part of the world. For my birthday a couple of years ago, himself said I could choose anywhere in the world to go and I chose Bude! However, Looe is my favourite – we love it there. Glad you had a great week x

Cornwall is our favourite holiday destination in the UK, it’s beautiful, full of history, gorgeous scenery, wonderful beaches and some amazing pubs!!

I think the name of my blog makes it obvious ;), but I am very lucky to live in Cornwall! I haven’t been to Looe in ages, I might have to go again soon 🙂 If you come down again, the Padstow coast is amazing for photos, beaches and Padstow itself is a gorgeous place with lovely shops and scenic harbour! I also especially love Falmouth further down 🙂
