There are lots of special things about being a Mummy. Watching your child experience things for the first time, observing their ‘first’s’, holding them while they sleep on you, hugging them when they cry. So many things that I adore. One of my main loves is watching Baby learn. She will do something and I know she is developing a greater understanding, right there in that moment. Little actions that show she is growing up, which is both terrifying and exciting in equal measure.
A while ago we started to teach Baby some impressions and she can do a snake, pony and train. She also points to her nose when you ask her where it is, and more recently she will stick out her tongue when you ask her where that is (it’s cuter than it sounds!).
Over the last couple of weeks, I have noticed her looking at things I mention. So the other day, I asked her where Barny (her teddy) was and she marched straight over and picked him up. I asked where another of her toys was, she did exactly the same and then wandered round holding Barny and Monkey (her two favourites). Now when I ask her for various soft toys, she can bring them to me.
It is these little actions that make my heart melt, she is growing and learning every day. Developing a strong sense of herself and a feisty, but wonderful personality.

Oh bless her, what a clever girl. I do think that this is a really interesting and exciting developmental age. LL is still a lot more like a baby than Mads was at her age, I read Mads monthly letters and am shocked at the difference between them. But I love to see little glimmers of LL becoming more interactive and learning- it’s so magic to see them! x

Baby was almost 5 months old when I started, but I backdated posts from my facebook updates etc to the day I found out I was pregnant. So not as thorough or detailed as if I had been blogging, but at least it’s there. Thanks hun x

I love seeing them develop. You never realise how quickly children change until you have children of your own. Then you get wrapped up in every little detail. I love hearing parents talk about how amazing it is that their child has learned some little thing – because the ordinary things are indeed quite precious.
