You know your a Mummy when you end up going to a theme park on your birthday; no spa day for me! We had received a lovely invitation to attend the press preview event of the new Lost Kingdom, at Paultons Park. The invitation itself, a dinosaur egg with a scroll inside, gave us an indication of what a great event it would be and we weren’t disappointed.
Set within 4 acres of Jurassic landscape within the main Paultons Park, the new £9m attraction transports families back millions of years to when dinosaurs roamed the earth. Pterodactyls, triceratops, velociraptors and the huge tyrannosaurus rex would be there for us to see, with animatronics bringing them to life.
The first thing we did was to watch the T-Rex be fed, luckily he was quite friendly, so some people got to pat him too!
The Lost Kingdom includes rides for all ages and bravery levels! The Jurassic themed family rides were Temple Heights, Boulder-Dash and Dino-Chase, Little Explorers, and my personal favourite The Dinosaur Tour Co; a jeep ride through a jurassic park, which was perfect for dinosaur spotting. I got soaked in the tunnel, which resulted in Baby trying to get under her seat to avoid the same fate. When completed Baby received a Park Ranger License on a lanyard, which was the best thing ever apparently! There is also a dinosaur adventure play park.
Baby and her Aunty had a go on Boulder Dash, which was a new take on a spinning tea cup type of ride. I thought Baby was going to be sick from the look on her face, but she exclaimed as soon as she got off that she wanted to do it again, so she can’t have felt that bad. Temple Heights was a flying carpet style ride, very slow and gentle making it perfect for the really little ones.
Previously the main draw of Paultons Park for us has been that it is home to Peppa Pig World. We visited last year and Baby had the most wonderful time. Although it also caters for the younger ones, the Lost Kingdom does offer some rides for the older kids namely two new rollercoasters: Velociraptor and Flight of the Pterosaur.
Baby was dying to get into the splash park and after a quick change into her swimming suit, she was off! She had such a wonderful time.
After a spot of lunch and much to Baby’s delight we headed to Peppa Pig World and had a go on a couple of rides there.
The Lost Kingdom is a fantastic addition to Paultons Park and there is now even more to appeal to older children too.

We love Paultons Park. We’re super lucky that we only live 25 mins away. I have a 3 year old little boy will is going to love the dinosaurs and a 13 year old girl who’s super excited to try the rollercoasters.
Wow Aby this looks awesome. My twins have gone wild for dinosaurs. We are off down that way in the summer so I’m sure our trip to Paultons Park will be an essential – especially with dinosaurs!
What a fun place. My boy would be in his element, he LOVES dinosaurs.
