Sand between her toes {Lepe beach}

It was such a beautiful day on Saturday, so we decided to head to the beach.  Baby’s Aunty was still staying with us, so we all piled into the car and headed to Lepe beach.  Baby had a snooze on the way, which was good, as she didn’t nap at all the previous day.  We arrived at Baby’s snack time, so our first stop was the beach side cafe, where Baby and I shared a cream tea.

We strolled down the beach and found a little sandy patch.  I wanted to see if Baby would get her feet wet, but I was willing to just see how it went.  Regular readers will know Baby has a water phobia, but this has recently improved through her swimming lessons.

Lepe Beach

We started off by playing on her inflatable boat, unfortunately the beach was a little too stony to be pulled very far.

I took her to the sea and waited for the waves to touch her toes.  She didn’t mind at all and within a few minutes she was trying to walk into the sea herself.

Aunty J and I passed Baby between us and she gradually wanted to go deeper and deeper.

As her eagerness grew, I thought she should perhaps wear her wetsuit, so we popped back on dry land to get her togged up.

Lepe BeachEven splashing the water and getting it all over her face didn’t phase her.

Lepe Beach

Proud doesn’t even cover how I feel about her.  She was transformed, no longer scared and keen to go further into the water.  She was so happy.

Lepe Beach

She didn’t really want to come out.

Lepe Beach

We all had such a lovely time and I am so so so proud of her.  She has undergone a complete transformation, where water is concerned.  I can’t wait to watch her develop her confidence even further.

  4. What lovely photos Aby!! Good old baby 🙂 I actually find with Reuben, who HATES swimming with a passion, that he loves water on his, splashes like crazy in the bath and if he can walk into the water, he’s happy. It’s when it’s just a big pool that he freaks out!

    Anyway, I LOVE this post, the photos are amazing and I love your dress too 🙂 Gorgeousness! xx
