Staying in London with Premier Inn

As part of my wedding anniversary present from hubby, I received tickets to see Sara Pascoe and Joe Lycett in London. The date coincided with #BlogFest, so hubby decided to meet me in London after the conference.

We love staying away from home and have had our fair share of trips this year. However, this one was a little different as Ava was staying at home with her Aunty. We were actually given a family room, which included a sofa bed, so it would have worked for us had she been with us.

The Premier Inn we chose was The Angel in Islington, not too far from the comedy gig venue. Check in was from 2pm, hubby did this for us, while I was still at the conference.

The Review

  • Good Night Guarantee:  If you don’t have a good nights sleep, they will refund your money! Can’t get better than that.
  • Security: On arrival you are given your door card. This card in needed to get through all of the doors and into the lift. I have never been in a hotel with such a high level of security before. It would certainly have given me extra peace of mind had Ava been with us.
  • Comfortable bed: The king-sized Hypnos bed was really comfortable and there were even spare pillows. Just as well as one is never enough for me!

  • Food on site: Our room included breakfast and while I just has a cup of tea, hubby has a full english. The smell was divine and he reported it was yummy. There were also crumpets which pleased my other half!

  • Friendly staff: We really could have asked for friendlier staff, they were great.
  • Location: Situated just off Upper Street and close to the O2 Academy the hotel is in prime position for a fun stay. Not far from the Emirates Stadium, the Houses of Parliament, the Tower of London and the British Museum there’s lots to do within a short tube ride.

  • Shower/Bath: Hubby and I both prefer showers, but had Ava with us, we’d have been grateful for the bath and  shower.
  • Freeview TV with 80 channels and free Wi-Fi in the rooms: Needless to say Wi-Fi is totally essential to me! There was the option to upgrade to ultimate Wi-Fi for a fee, but the free service was absolutely fine.
  • Blackout curtains:  Again this didn’t matter to us, as we returned late. However, if Ava had been trying to get to sleep, they would have been a very useful addition.

The room was £200, which in central London isn’t bad at all, especially as it could have slept 3 people. We had a great stay at the Premier Inn and wouldn’t hesitate to head back again.

Disclosure: Our stay at the hotel was complimentary in return for this review. As always my thoughts and opinions are honest.

  1. With travelling around the country visiting schools, we always stay in Premier Inn. I need somewhere comfortable that is good value for schools to cover the cost. Glad your experience was as good as ours always are!

  2. That’s a good selection of food for Breakfast at a Premier Inn! Didn’t realise they did such a versatile breakfast selection. Loved the look of the room too.
