Travel sickness? Morning sickness? Sea-Band Review + Giveaway

As a child I remember feeling so sick in the back of the car as we would drive from Scotland (where we used to live) to England to stay with family. I was always in the back of the car and as a result I would feel that familiar wave of nausea every single time we made the journey.

As an adult I’m often driving, but if I’m not I do try to squeeze some work into the journey which involves looking at my notes or phone. Those old familiar feelings then start to return..

I was recently introduced a drug-free solution to travel sickness called Sea-Bands and I was keen to check them out. Travel sickness can be a real challenge and anything that could make family travel easier would be great. Sea-Bands use the acupressure points in the wrists to exert a light pressure via a plastic ball set into a stretchy knitted wrist bands. The fact that it’s clinically proven and drug-free is a great bonus for families with little ones who suffer. Sea-Bands have no side effects and they’re reusable too (another bonus around kids!).

Sea-Bands also have a Happy Holiday Activity booklet which is packed full of activities for kids of all ages. From colouring, to word searches and lots more in between it helps to keep them entertained.

Ava doesn’t suffer with travel sickness but she was thrilled to try out her camouflage Sea-Bands. I tested mine on a recent 2 hour trip to the airport. While I can’t say categorically that the Sea-Bands prevented nausea, I was able to work on my phone during the journey without any ill effects. So it’s definitely worth trying them if you suffer with nausea.

I know from personal experience that when you’re feeling the effects of travel sickness you want a remedy that acts quickly and Sea-Bands state that they become effective after 5 minutes, as long as you put them on before feeling nauseous.

It isn’t only travel sickness that Sea-Bands can help alleviate, but Morning sickness, post operative and also chemotherapy induced post operative sickness too. Having suffered from two these forms of sickness I wish I had known about Sea-Bands at the time.
