Welcome to the fourth ‘Challenge Yourself’ link up. You can read more about the reasons I started this link up and started setting myself monthly goals here.
This month I set myself the challenge of learning to edit a picture in photoshop. When I set myself this challenge I did realise photoshop is not something you can learn in three weeks, but I just wanted to be able to do a few tricks to enhance my photo’s. What I naively didn’t realise is, that I do not have the full or current version of photoshop on my computer. Unfortunately I did not realise this until I had spent many torturous hours poring over tutorials and wondering why I hadn’t got the options I was meant to have….
So my challenge this month feels like a bit of a damp squib. Although I have spent quite a few hours in photoshop, I have very little saved work.
Upon realising my software shortfall, I popped over to Mammasaurus’ blog as I know she is a bit of a whizz. As I am always adding text to images, I would like different effects up my sleeve. So I followed this simple, but excellent, tutorial and here is the result.
I know it is very simple, but I have never used photoshop before and I really like this effect. I hope I can continue to learn the tricks that my mini photoshop offers and integrate them into my blog over the next few months.
Onwards and upwards, onto my May challenge. As I have blogged about previously, I have a very small family and a lack of a sense of history. With this in mind my next challenge will be to research my family tree and try to learn a little more about where I come from.
How did you get on with your personal challenges this month? What will your next challenge be?
Through my previous challenges I have learned how to use my camera properly, learned how to knit and created Baby’s birthday cake
